Savanah loves Miami. They bought a 9 million dollar condo just a few years ago in Miami. People get tired of LA, and I don't think many people want to retire there. Miami offers all the good things that come with LA with a little bit more privacy, LeBron was able to bike to the arena when he played here.

This is revisionist ...

I remember 2014. It was Savannah that said she didn't like Miami and said it was fine "for a few days to visit" but didn't want to live here.

All them cavs fans were trashing Miami saying Savannah didn’t want to raise a family in a place where people don’t even speak english. Didn’t want them going to school here etc.

I don’t want his old ass here anyway.

If we get Lebron for cheap might as well roll the dice on Dame and see if he has anything left.

Dame
Herro
Bron
Bam
Ware

Thats not bad bad line-up and you wouldn't need Dame to be "Dame" of old either.

I actually think that's a solid hire for them. He'll most likely help improve the defense and will actually use their bench. I'm surprised they didn't go for Mike Malone though.

Herro sucks man, he's a bench guy at best. We need to find a sucker to trade with

Pat will show up at the introduction press conference with a fresh batch of LeBron's favorite cookies and hand them to him along with his jersey

Downgrade from Thibs (whom has his own issues/limitations) overall imo.

Thibs is twice the defensive coach that Brown can dream of being. Over Brown's 3 seasons in Sacramento, his defenses were ranked 14th, 24th, and 27th.

All this LeBron talk is basically hope grifting. LeBron if anything will just play out his deal and then walk away as a free agent and join the Cavs. The Cavs team has better talent than us, they will give him the keys and let him run the show. That’s something that wont happen here.

After living in LA (Fires, Riots, Homeless epidemic) she probably can't wait to get out of there.

He left because he and his posse couldn't be in control w Pat in charge here. Maybe a great move for him as a business mogul when all things are said n done. Who knows?
And he could've left without being an ass. Thank Riley and the organization for what it did for him n part w a handshake. It's not the leaving part, but how he left. They mended the fences? lol. Who knows what's in the hearts of others! Riley n Heat have to deal w Klutch. So, at least publicly you gotta smile n do business.

I think he left because Wade was declining rapidly at least physically, and Cleveland was set up to form a new super team for him. It made sense for him to leave Cleveland for Miami when he did, it also made sense for him to go back. LeBron went to 4 straight finals with the Cavs it just so happened they all came against the Warriors. I don't think it would have gone any differently in Miami that version of Golden State was a perfect storm.

I may not recall right, but if LeBron was bought in to stay with Miami from the jump, wouldn't they have been in a position to add Pau Gasol (All-Star in both subsequent seasons while making less than $8M per) and Luol Deng to play with the big 3?

This is correct.

Considering your gauge on good, this just validates my approach.

The gravity that man provided was enormous. The worst thing to ever happen to him is Max Strus’ emergence during the COVID season when Duncan got covid. Dude’s confidence was shot and he never recovered. I wish him the best.

Both Wade and Bosh were looking to get paid. The Heat had a boatload of capspace after Lebron left, but with the contract extensions of Wade/Bosh and signing of Deng there was only the MLE left. I think Riley’s plan to pursue Pau if Lebron did not leave would not have included Deng and would have required the big 3 to take a paycut.

The real shame of it all is when the Heat grabbed Dragic later on in the season, they were ready to compete for another title on Bosh’s back. But then he got the blood clot problem and there was no coming back from that.

That **** was heartbreaking when Bosh came back from the first blood clot incident, made the All Star team, and then the clots shut him down again. The reality that his career was over was impossible to grapple with, for Bosh especially.

Yeah a Cavs-Heat ECF’s would have been one for the ages. Just like a Heat-Lakers finals before Zo went down would have been epic too.

Duncan robinson had massive DNP’s in the 22/23 season for a reason and he was healthy to play for most of it. He was unplayable and was arguably unplayable on the other seasons following it but Strus was gone, they needed 3 point shooting. His offense while he hit a high 3 point percentage came at a cost, he tried to create his own shot too often and make unbalanced 3s which lead to fastbreaks, transitions the other way..

Defense we had to hide him with zone.. especially next to herro…
