Not going hard after Hawes told me that there might not be a complete philosophical change on defense, but I do know Oden is expected back.

It's apparently not obvious to everyone. Some people seem fairly optimistic about the McRoberts and Granger additions. I'm expressing an opinion that, even if they are slight improvements, they don't really address our biggest issues, the issues that the Spurs exposed so badly in the Finals. That is a relevant point, I'd think.

I talked to my source today and he said cavs are still confident in lebron to cavs but the team in the east (my inside info- one of my closet friends) plays on is under full understand big 3 will be back!

Congratz guys.. I maybe 100% wrong things change by the second but just thought you would like to know.

The fact is, the Cavs young core of Irving,Waiters,Bennett and Wiggins is very young. Not one of them is 25 years old. You do not win titles with that young of team. You can trade for Love, but he hasn't done jack for 6 seasons except stat pad his white ass.

When he resigns with the Heat, we will shock the world again!!!

but you are a pistons fan

just like that vinsanity guy who keeps referring to the heat as we yet has a 76ers logo next to his avatar

You won't get banned, don't worry. Our mods aren't as cutthroat as Bulls mods can be unless provoked.

Thanks for the heads up. Hoping it comes true for us. We will all wait and see.

The McRoberts signing is great. He's an above average player on the typical team with a skill-set that fits what you guys do. He brings some relative youth towards your roster as well. You may have slightly overpaid but overpaying during title contention periods isn't a major problem provided you leave some flexibility.

I also think many Heat fans are getting to hung up on the 2014 Finals.

First, a 5 game series is an awfully small sample size. The 2014 Spurs were better than the 2014 Heat but the margin wasn't anywhere close to 14 ppg. You play that series a 100 times and that is probably the 2nd or 3rd best performance SAS would get.

Second, there is no guarantee SAS is going to be back in the finals next year. The West is an absolute bloodbath so it would be a huge mistake to build your roster for one opponent especially when many critical players on that team are the age were they could collapse at any moment.

Obviously the biggest factor in your off-season is bringing back Lebron but this is a nice signing.

As an aside, I'm shocked there are fans who want to replace Bosh with Melo. I'm not one of those Knick fans who hate Melo but Bosh's skill-set is far more valuable next to Lebron.

Agreed with all this. Also this man is the best Knicks poster on the site, listen to him. (still hate the Knicks, sorry)

Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol are going to get paid. If we nab one of them though; wow.

This all started with Stan Van Gundy you know paying way too much for players.

Pure_Basketball wrote:Two terrible signings, and I'm not being completely negative. Granger has been washed up for a while, he was washed up two years ago and once you're washed up you don't get better unless you play for Phoenix. As for McRoberts, I don't see how he fits our needs, he isn't good at rebounding or defense, and he's barely a good shooter. 6 rebounds per36 for a guy who's going to be probably starting at power forward? I mean that's worse than Chris Bosh the last two years.

I'm under the assumption that the big 3 were willing to take a pay cut so that we had around 5-6 million in cap space, so I'm hoping that means we still have the 5-6 million for another player like Jordan Hill or Paul Gasol and then once we've evaporated all our cap we can use the exceptions.

Jameer Nelson / Nappier / Cole
Wade / Allen / Morrow
Lebron / Granger / Ennis
Bosh / McRoberts / Haslem
Jordan Hill or Gasol / Birdman / Oden

Would have looked so much better than what I'm thinking our lineup is going to be looking like now. For **** sake you could have signed Spencer Hawes with that money, the perfect fit to our lineup. Spaces the floor better, better size, much better rebounder, fills the need at center, is still young, same money, same passer.

I wouldn't call McRoberts a terrible signing (in my opinion it is decent at best), but overall I agree with your post.

I see LeBron signing a one year deal with the Heat. Makes the most sense and still gives him flexibility.

Oh I know. I don't think we stand a chance to land big free agents. You really have to build from the draft.

McBoB is a really good signing, I have seen a lot of the Bobcat games because my neighbor is from CLT. Dude with flourish in our system. But just my opinion.
