Wiltside wrote:Brooklyn can put on the table some handy players in Dinwiddie, LeVert and Jarrett Allen plus picks...but yeah, that's locking in a half decade of mediocrity.

It's probably better than anything we could offer though realistically. Even if Herro is arguably the greatest trade asset available, we don't have much else that would tantalise or more the needle.

Is a package of Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk, Andre Igoudala and pick #20 better than the Nets offer?

If Philly put Simmons on the table, it's done. If they tried to do it without Ben - the best they can probably do is something like Al Horford, Josh Richardson, Shake Milton, Matisse Thybulle and future FRP or something.

Gonna be a hectic couple weeks.

I'd take Herro + fillers over Levert and Dinwiddie. NBA is more about quality than quantity. Herro has a top 2 player in a championship team level ceiling. He can get to Booker's level offensively but be more efficient. Levert and Dinwiddie are above average players but they are 26+, this is their ceiling. They will never be all-stars. You take the potential all-star player over 2 or 3 high level role players.

AD declines his player option and becomes an UFA. Would have been awesome if the Lakers has lost last year, but with them winning, don’t think he goes anywhere.

Sign/trade DJJ + #20 for Bamba + #45. Draft Quickley at 45 and boom, we're addressing both interior and perimeter D while improving 3pt shooting

Would actually prefer Bamba/Quickley over something like Millsap/Matthews, ESPECIALLY if the former allows us to retain Crowder

Why would the magic take that trade?? Lol

Cant trade the pick. The Heat have to make a pick then they can trade the player..

Would rather just draft someone like Daniel Oturu for help in the interior instead of Bamba...

The team that we trade the pick to will be deciding who we select if we are planning to trade the pick. There is no scenario where we make a random selection then start offering that player to teams in trades.

But overall I agree with your statement I would rather use the pick then trade it for someone like Bamba. Mainly due to the fact that Bamba will be eligible for a contract extension at the end of this upcoming season and we have enough people to pay right now. A low cost rookie will be far better for us instead. That being said I think its more likely we trade the pick.

Agreed.

We really need to have some team friendly contracts on the books (rookie contracts) because I have no doubt we're adding a whale this season or next. Unless you want to see Mike Bibby start again, you better have some good cheap talent on the roster.

Also I don't get the Mamba love, when you look past the wingspan, what exactly did he do to impress you in the last 2 years? He's just long. Rather draft a big we liked at #20 and help shape him into Bam's running mate. We'll have good options at #20 in 2 days.

I would have more hope too if his agent wasn't Rich Paul. But this just seems standard procedure to get long term security with LA.

That being said, one could hope he's afraid of LeBron leaving LA and decides to beat him to that punch lol.

Looking forward to it. I don't think we do anything till Wednesday but I'm excited to see the potential movement around the league.

Bamba has showed some potential for the elusive 3pt shooting rim protector that folks have been calling for, but that's more idealism than reality. Coupled with the fact that #20 picks don't usually pan, I thought it was at least an interesting question
Long Live Winnie. Mamba siempre

With the announced trade of Dennis Schroder to the Lakers for D.Green and a pick, LA is now in need of a defensive guard/wing to replace Green... I'm expecting Matthews is going to sign with the Lakers rather than Miami. Hope he still signs in Miami for near the minimum, he'd be a rotational player and give Miami more trade options.

If the Heat trades Iggy they definitely need to sign Matthews. They should outbid Lakers unless they have an agreement with Crowder.

So much smoke on the Gallinari front.

I really hope we don't give up #20 for a S&T, that's too short sighted IMO.

How would you feel if we move kelly + Nunn for 1 year guaranteed of Gallinari?

I really want to keep Nunn, but maybe G.Vincent can bring better D and 3 point shooting and play the needed role.

The issue is whoever we trade for - we won't be able to keep them If the plan is to have Bam + Jimmy and have enough cap space for Giannis. I hate rentals acquisitions.

That is why too much for a sign and trade. We didn't even do that for Lebron
