Just watched the end of the OKC - Warriors game. Yeah, ain't no way they giving up Wiggs, Schroeder, GP2, and Looney for Jimmy lol. Hell, Wiggins alone may be better than Jimmy at this point.

...the desire for Jimmy, I am sure...is the free throws
I think you are right though....I don't expect the haul for jimmy to be all that large....

Am i the only one not worried about JJJ? Kid hasn’t even played a full 2 seasons yet. Let him develop & see how he goes by the end of his sophomore yr. Gain that experience, Build in the offseason & see how he goes in his 3rd. He has fantastic footwork - this is a trait of a player w/ potential. You don’t give up on a kid like this.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

What im impressed w/ the most w/ Tyler is his maturity this season. The kid grew up. Not surprising when you have somebody like Spo guiding him w/ wisdom. Skills mean nothing w/out character & direction. Miami are building all 3 in Herro.

Beautiful sharp move. Simple but efficient. Bam has it him. Marilyn just has to tell him he’s a big brave boy, kiss him on the forehead & tell him to be a monster.

Personnel limitations aside, turnovers appear to be the biggest bug-a-boo with Miami's shift to prioritize playing with Bam and Ware together. Not shocking considering Miami is very limited in perimeter playmakers and players are adapting to new dynamics on the fly. I'm confident practice and reps can provide some benefit in greasing the wheels. Ultimately, having a 2nd guard/wing ballhandler that is more consistent than Terry (and ideally can break down a defense) would be huge.

Sophomore slump. Sorta expected this though. His overall his shot mechanics looks way cleaner and quicker from last season and he's been letting it fly which he just needs to continue to do and start making them at an improved clip. The TOs gotta chill though he's basically been a butterfingers ad. Which I'm 100% convinced stem from slippery hands aka sweaty hands.
Miami / Chicago / London

I think there is an injury he is just playing through it. He has NO lift this year. Even when he tries hard to jump he is barely getting above the rim.

Jaquez has had just 4 dunks and 7 attempts this year.
Last year to this date he had 21 dunks and 25 attempts

Good point. Def shocking to think this is the same dude that was selected for the dunk contest last season as a rookie. I wonder if he added weight too

I think its related to that hamstring injury that he had at the start of the season. I think he looks slimmer this year

IMO its best to build around all the young players Herro, Bam, Ware, Jovic and Jaquez until a true #1 star becomes available. Just add complementary vets around those four. Lets these players go through their ups and downs the next few years.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 5 - JIMMY BUTTWART EXTRAVAGANZA
Whatever happens before february 6. We need offense more than ever.
ware It's not the answer until he develops...needs a few seasons for that. Tyler seems to be only consistent offensive Player we can count on almost every game...bam Has been obscured...etc, etc
offense MEDIOCRE And not consistent for years now... I don't like this, Even if we have a great showing in the playoffs... I'm not saying anything remotely New and only trying to "beat a more than dead horse"
I think the answer is not in the players, but in the assistant coaching...
Offensive specialist anyone??
In my opinion, getting rid of jb Is only part of the answer we seek

Recency bias at his finest. Warriors have been mid like Heat and are out of the play in tournament. Wiggins been fine 17 pts 44 FG % which isn't really that efficient or impressive. And not even close to Jimmy. The rest of the role players have been fine to mid. The Warriors package isn't something to crow about. The only thing of value we would get from Warriors is their picks. Wiggins or any of the role players might help win a few games here and there but are not going to change the trajectory of this team. Thats why FO should stick with the plan of no contracts past 2026.

If Miami can just get a 2027 FRP in the Jimmy trade, then I can fully embrace close losses where Miami is experimenting and developing. Prioritizing schematic and youth development is def the most important thing the Heat can be doing right now IMO.
And I'd also start diving further into the 2025 draft class.

Dunno if he did or didn't....but it would not be the first time some one added weight in an attempt to get mins playing 3/4.
It seems there was been a good chunk of "for the team" changes the last few years....maybe now that 2, 4 and 5 look solid, they can start to focus more on what is best for the player.

The issue with that is that, if Miami doesn't make the playoffs, they have to send OKC an unprotected pick in 2026 and an unprotected 1st to Charlotte (?) in 2028. At least that's what I remember reading.
