I don’t know man this might be a deal breaker lol

Man, we signed zoran dragic to a deal. If we send out 4-5 players, ofc we will acquire thanasis. He can just take roziers roster spots. Next year and extension talks idk... Miami doesn't seem like the kind of place that'd give him a roster spot for 3-4 seasons as a mascot. UD best example but he served a purpose and we promised him that deal long ago.

Don't understand why its hard for people to understand that Giannis didn't request a trade but AGREED to be traded.

Some may call me paranoid but I think Windhorst has always had a bit of a grudge against the Heat organization for taking LeBron from Cleveland. Rmemeber, Windhorst was a hometown Cleveland guy first and foremost, he got on the national scene by being LeBron's jockstrap but that happened because of his Cleveland roots. And I think a part of him always resented that he couldn't just stay his whole career in Cleveland, ala Sam Smith and Michael Jordan.

Anyways, he's always been pretty down on Miami. From the summer of 2010 being one of the guys to report LeBron would never go to Miami, to throughout LeBron's tenure always being LeBron's mouthpiece against the team (mostly the first year against Spo), to the end being the guy to signal LeBron might leave first, to the aftermath and consistently downplaying any positive Miami rumors in the years to follow.

I could be wrong, but you pick up on these sorts of things. Marc Stein is another one, who held a grudge against the Heat ever since they beat the Mavs in 06 (he used to be pretty neutral on Miami before that). Stein's a Mavs beat guy, or was anyways, before he got picked up by ESPN.
Not the reason. When Lebron was here, lebron kept Winhorst out of Miami.

Absolutely absurd. Maybe someone from the Warriors front office phoned in a favor. Butler, Kuminga, and there picks is hot dog water.

Light years ahead. Kuminga for Giannis str8 up.

If they want young players, expirings and picks, it's hard to see much young talent on the Warriors, Wolves or Knicks to compete with what we have at our disposal.

Pretty much

He's extremely ball dominant. He doesn't fit with every team. He's had multiple (currently his 4th) calf injuries last 1.5 seasons. He's in his 30s, and lebron and durant are more the exceptions than the standard. Tons of big dudes declined fast. Personally, im cool getting him in offseason just so we dont have to pay him that supermax at 85M per year or whatever insane figure its going to be.

Two frps, swaps, herro, jjj, Ware, rozier. And if we gotta add Simone and take on kuzma to reduce picks or young players going out, so be it. Hes expiring next year and you figure that out then.

But if they also want wiggins to also be moved so we get another two FRPs to send them and Kuminga and they also want KJ or Pelle plus taking kuzma I start hanging up the phone.

Ofc Riley would actually offer only herro ware and like one frp

I wonder if there is a world where we land Giannis and Ja? Theoretically, it's possible.

I really do not like the fit of that at all. Its just big names for big names sakes. Giannis and Dame was a mediocre fit, and Ja is worse than Dame in every way that actually matters. Ideally you want a guy like Dame but who needs the ball in their hands less next to Giannis, and who is a plus defender. Ja needs the ball in his hands more than Dame even to do damage, is an arguably worse defender (good at blocks/steals dreadful at everything else), and can't shoot. Terrible fit.

And this is all assuming you get the best version of Ja with zero off court issues and zero health problems, to boot.

I don't understand that grudge at all, they won, got to send Dame somewhere else, and they're still pissy because Heat fans expected it would go like every other superstar trade demand goes? The irony is if the situation were reversed, you know they'd be expecting to get a star for nothing, if a guy demanded out and said they wanted to be in Portland.

Yep. Just model it after the 2021 Bucks title team.

Put the ball in Giannis hands most of the time and surround him with shooters.

Bam
Giannis
Larsson
Powell
Davion/Smith

If Bam and Larsson can hit around 34–35% on open looks, we should be in good shape.

Ware, KJ, and JJJ are 3 former 1st round picks, 26.6 million in salary relief with Rozier, Hometown allstar in Herro, and two future 1st rd picks and whatever swaps they want. That's a quality deal compared to the awful chit i've been seeing of Butler and Kuminga with picks like that's some god father offer the media pundits think it is lol.

And those picks are 30 and 32.

Giannis would be 36 and 38 by then.

Ware,JJJ, Kasparas are legitimate players in this league. All 3 project to be starters, Ware a possible all star, JJJ 6th man candidate, and Kasparas looks great.

Would allow us to keep Wiggins to “win now”

If Riley can somehow keep Wiggins and get Giannis, then he is the GOAT GM.

Forget the past prime Dame. They should've just kept Jrue. Just chasing names is not the way to build a contender.
