The front office is going to try and flip whatever assets we get from Houston for an elite player. Fox really does fit the bill.

What if Denver came calling with MPJ, Nnaji, Saric and a 1st for Butler and Jovic (or possibly Love with no 1st)?

What's Fox' private jet schedule to Mia looking like?

There's no rush right now from a trade partner's perspective, they can wait and see how Jimmy is looking and if he's still healthy later in the year. Unless there is competition for landing him. Miami letting this out now though has nothing good to come of in as this lingers and drags on. I hope they manage a quality deal asap for the team's sake.

my thoughts exactly.

The Heat will wait for the right deal again, and not do anything if it doesn't come

We should be looking at players in there late mid 20’s on Herro and Bam’s timeline. Fox, Sexton, Collins etc

I've been bringing up Fox since 2021. He'd be a dream target in that he'd give us an actual super star talent in his prime years to build around, it would have to be one hell of an offer to Sacramento though.

I rather let Jimmy walk for nothing then take on that pile of chit

Kuminga is the most overated, overhyped player in the league.

He's low IQ, broken jump shot, negeative A/TO ratio - I want nothin g to do with him. Wouldn't even trade Jamie for him.

Even if we get Fox, and have him, Herro, Bam, etc. as our core, I don't think it's enough to defeat the Celtics. We would be losing an all-defensive wing in Butler who can also score 25+ on > 60% TS when it matters.

Jimmy, despite being 35, is still elite as ever, and he currently has one of the best offensive | defensive net ratings in the entire association (and has had so during his entire Miami tenure).

We'd be a better regular season team with Fox and Co., but in the playoffs - depending on the matchup - we may not have enough of a 'wing' presence to truly disturb a team like Boston.

I would still do the trade though, as Fox is 8 years younger and fits the Bam / Herro timeline perfectly.

Jabari looks mid as hell for 4 years now, not improving and not good.

Reed looks like a potential bust, he looks tinny and helpless out there and can't even get minutes as a top 4 pick.

WTH

Butler has an ORTG / DRTG of 137 / 114.

Fox has an ORTG / DRTG of 114/114.

For further context,

Jayson Tatum this season has an ORTG / DRTG of 119/109,
Donovan Mitchell; 114/111,
Giannis; 122/111,
Jokic; 130/110.

Butler is ELITE. Too bad he's 35 :/

That is a silly point. Teams will simply make capspace if they want Jimmy.

That’s a lot easier said than done lol

It happens all the time. It’s literally how Miami got most of their stars. Butler, Bosh, James, Shaq etc were pending free agents. Heat made room that summer

Butler is still a whale in this league. He's currently having one of the most efficient years of his career and is still playing at an all-NBA level defensively. He's also on a contract year, and from his perspective he's trying to lock in one more max contract.

From a trade perspective, you would be hesitant to trade the farm for Jimmy when you know he is a free-agent this upcoming season, and so whatever contender that is willing to trade for Jimmy will need confirmation from him that he plans to resign in the off-season (i.e. Siakam).

Lolol.

I think part of Houstons problem is they have too many young guys. It creates a bit of a roster jam and limits players opportunities to find consistency.

Jabari and Reed are top 3 picks. Theyre not 27th picks like Jovic. With their limited exposure, we should take the chance to get them before they prove themselves as roster staples.

Also, Jimmy is 35 wifh a big contract. What should we get in return?

That Kawhi trade to Toronto is maybe the kinda deal we can expect if one does happen.

A mid “star”
A youngish player
1 protected pick

Not looking forward to the trade deadline :(
