Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
Silver lining of Jimmy looking like doo doo on and off again in this round is that it should give Pat some leverage in negotiations for KD (Yes, I still believe we'll be pursuing that, and not tanking a year). Jimmy can be pointed to to say "We're taking a risk for a player at KD's age. Giving up a high amount of assets is out of the question."
Now whether Jimmy's performance is actually a testament to his decline is probably being overstated, but it helps us regardless. I hope he's bad and puts up even less shots in game 5 too.

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
In the spirit of playing fantasy roster construction, this is my favorite flavor of dreaming:
2025 draft: Miami selects Labaron Philon (PG of the future in the mold of the Cs guards like White and Jrue)
2025 offseason: re-sign Davion Mitchell for right price
2026 dev season with subtle tank to have a shot at a top 8 pick (a lot of high level talent in the top 10 next season). Young guys get a bunch of burn and quality development (Ware next step, Jovic consistency, Philon on-ball reps, Pelle steady role, etc).
2026 - draft one of the following with a top 8 pick: Dybantsa (SF), Peterson (G), Boozer (PF), Ament (SF), Arenas (G), Karim Lopez (F)
2026 offseason: GET LUKA; re-sign Herro; ancillary trades
Miami enters the 2026-2027 season with the following lineup:
Labaron Philon (21) / Davion Mitchell (28) - Vet PG
Tyler Herro (26) - Pelle Larsson (25)
Luka Doncic (27) - Nate Ament/Karim Lopez+
Bam Adebayo (29) - 3&D big wing Vet
Kel'el Ware (22) - Bam Adebayo
With all that said, the pursuit for KD is likely more realistic and other trade opps may arise along the way (or not).

D white all day!!!
Lmao come on Bammy. How?
We cant even afford Davion, how we gonna get Derrick White?
We'd have to cut Duncan, lose Davion, and then send Rozier for White. They'd save a whopping 2M plus like multiple first round picks.
Or send Duncan and Ware and FRPs but then need to send rozier and a frp to a team with cap space.
New CBA makes every trade very difficult and Celtics want to shed salary, not match it.

Solid plan, doubt they tank in any way but they might end up sucking anyway depending on injuries.
Alternative is, there is internal growth and they can end up in the playoffs 4-6 seed, which is also a good result for a young squad
Luka is a pipe dream, but who knows what happens during a year long period and following offseason.
Either way, this is like a "soft reset", a developmental season, where they can increase the roster value and get the cap in a better state.
KD trade, unless it's Terry/Wiggins going out, is a big no for me

All the heavy hitters in the NBA thought the Mavs winning the lottery was a joke except for riled up Heat twitter lol

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
The East next year:
Cavs - Remain top 4
Boston - Might blow it up, because Tatum is out with achilles and their payroll is insane (someone will have to go), so possibly not top 4
Knicks - Remain top 4
Pacers - Remain top 4
Bucks - Likely trading Giannis and blowing it up, mid or bad
Pistons - Not sold they are better than the Heat were this year, could go either way next year, likely mid
Magic - Not sold on Paolo, still very inefficient, but if he makes a leap they are better than the Heat, likely mid
Hawks - Mid
Bulls - Mid
Heat - Mid
Raptors - Mid
Brooklyn - Bad, probably still tanking
76ers - Depends on Embiid a lot, could be top 4 or just mid
Hornets - Bad
Wizards - Bad
Overall, the Heat could be in the mix for 5-6 seed just by running it back with Davion and taking a developmental year. We'll get more clarity in the offseason, but the East could end up with few top tier superstars with no Giannis / Tatum

Rich Paul on Mcafee says Dallas is not trading Cooper Flagg. Also says good things happen to good people in his buddy Nico Harrison lol.

Imagine if they trade it for Maxey while the Heat drafted Precious
Maxey and the 3rd pick etc or some variation is temping. It gives the Mavs a win now star and the 3rd pick. The 76er get a foundation player. Not sure either team actually does it but I can see the appeal to both sides. More likely the Mavs go for broke and want Giannis

We were also slotted 8th before that fluke 6 game winning streak that ended up moving up to 2nd in the rigged lottery. We need to find next years script for the league and specifically our Heat so we can save ourselves time

It's def a fascinating time. Signals suggest that the FO has 2026 offseason earmarked as something of a junction point for roster building. But, I don't think that means the FO is closed for business until then.
If the right opp arises and Miami can strike, that's cool. If not, there's a good chance that Miami is gonna have another full-on dev season next year (won't be mad if Bam and Herro miss some extra games) and aim to strike big between next season and 2026 offseason (whether trade or FA). If Miami can wait until then to decide on Herro extension, that would be ideal IMO.
Yeah, we r gonna build the whole time. Strike when you can. Hope u can strike again.
U see a window, you have to max it out. Adding KD to this next 5 year build seems the most logical based on our team building philosophy.

I'd do it if we can flip another trade for KD.
On second thoughts nah. If you get KD it's possible Herro could take another leap.

Thanks 3ammy. Everyone we know who to blame when this trade goes down.
It sounds far fetch but I can see how the Heat can get there. KD goes to Houston, Morant too toxic and Zion to hurt. Heat would be out of options. Derozan would be a cheap option as there's probably no suitors. Could be as cheap as a couple 2nds + an expiring. But when you start thinking about Derozan its a sign to rebuild

We actually do have the salary to match to land both KD and Derozan while keeping Bam and Herro

And yea, fuxk fat Erny. Been throwing shade at Edrice ever since the team paid Bam over Jimmy despite Bam being the one going to war with Jimmy every year in our deep runs but whatever. Hope they “got their joy back” with this second round exit.
