Idc if we get outbid, just hope we put together a proper big offer. No more refusing to put Ware in a deal for example.

If we do, are we going to get years of people hating on Ware next?

Herro and Wiggins combine to make $5M a year more than Giannis, you can add GTJ if you want to get closer to a salary match with the Bucks taking back about $1.6M or so extra in the deal. From strictly just a $$$ perspective.
Oh that's lovely. So if we get the Rozier pick back and Bucks want picks, my dream trade could be possible. Unfortunately nothing will likely happen on the Rozier front in the near future.
Couldn’t the nba simply just gift us a pick for this year and consider it a 1st rounder? I could’ve swore theres been a draft with either more or less than 60 picks in recent memory but I don’t remember exactly what it was or why

To be fair, if you’re going to be held out of Giannis discussions you better show up big lol

As a former collegiate athlete who also discussed these types of things with other athletes who went further, 99% of the time you know what exactly when something happens to a specific area because you are so in tune with your body and used to injuries. I guess technically this is what happened with his foot too? I hope this closes the case that Herro is indeed injury prone. Imagine if Herro was treated like Jimmy in terms of reliability - 17 games then out indefinitely with a mystery toe injury... dude wouldnt even be offered a an extension at all if all things were equal.
That white boy privilege mixed with Riley Kentucky bias is wild.
If your going to bring down a player on the team that’s one thing.. but being racist is another

Well the problem is its all going to be rumors and hearsay either way. If we don't get Giannis, everyone is going to assume Ware was held out of the deal unless the Heat openly say he was in it. And if the Heat admit they offered him, they're throwing him under the bus a bit which hurts in keeping him here (and also hurts our leverage in future deals moving forward). Sort of a lose/lose, on top of losing out on Giannis himself.

I think we’ll likely know from someone like Barry early on like he told us with Herro being left out of Donovan Mitchell and Kyrie trades. Idk, I think it gets to a point where you just kind of need to understand, maybe look at it as you’re valuable because you’re someone that was actually wanted in trade talks around a player or Giannis caliber. You see guys get traded from time to time and they’re response to it is along the lines of “yeah I mean it sucks to get traded but I would’ve traded me too for Kevin Durant”. Just part of it and I’m sure the staff would talk with him after and get his mind right

You trust Barry? Only guys I trust are Ira and LeBatard, and Ira rarely gets anything interesting.

Re: 2025 Miami Heat Regular Season Thread
Really wonder what Ware's perceived value is around the league.
If other teams look at him as someone to give a max offer to a couple of years from now.
IMO, he's seems like a perfect player for Mil to consider.
They can probably offload Turner and get a first rounder for him which frees up their roster for Ware

Definitely trust Barry, he wouldn’t report false info imo. I don’t think any of them would give out false info tbh, honestly would be Dan if anyone if given word from Riley and co to do so.

If they’re trading Giannis they definitely need to offload all the vets they can. I saw teams like the Warriors are already showing interest in Turner if something comes from the Giannis talks.

Atp Ware has shown that he's already a 16-18ppg/10+ rebound guy who can hit from deep with a still-improving jumper, developing as a promising rim protector, and a guy who can move his feet on the perimeter and finish plays on offense/clean up the mess. Don't see why other teams wouldn't view him as that since that is what he currently is.

Call me crazy but I would make the case he’s not only the most talented player from his draft, he’s also the best combination of skill and athleticism we’ve drafted since Wade. Not trying to set up anyone for disappointment but he’s the type of prospect where I don’t even know you can say he has a ceiling yet.
To play devils advocate though, his attitude sometimes comes across like he’s an average guy who got bodyswapped with an NBA player, and is doing what he has to but would rather be anywhere else. Not in the good “work hard” Joker way either, but more like “work just hard enough”.

Ira knows more than anyone that's why he doesn't say much, but when he does pay attention. Ira actually does work for the organization that is why he is so close to them.

The two Heat players make over $59 million. Giannis makes just over $54 million. They would need to add salary, so it's possible to withhold Bam and Ware from a salary standpoint, but obviously from an asset standpoint they're going to demand (and get) Ware.
