If we stand pat don’t see how the heat can justify that…so we are supposed to believe that subbing Haywoodhighsmith minutes for pj is the difference?

how so? did any of those seasons end in titles? why should we proud of just making an ECF, or making a Finals? wrong kinda of mentality to have imo.

You are crazy if you think anything less than a three peat is failure. Completely unrealistic expectations for any team in history.

the heats goal is to win a title, not conference finals. thats the expectation of the organization, not just mines. well just have to agree to disasgree and leave it there.

Duncan Robinson for Kelly Olynk trade could be an option for us. Pistons have an overload of bigs and could use a specialist shooter at the 2/3. KO has chemistry with Bam. Also the one team in the NBA that has someone in the organization that has a soft spot for Duncan is Duncan’s old college coach with Michigan Jim Beilein.

Pretty fair deal and it does consolidate our team better but yeah doesn’t move the needle but is a start I guess

They know they cant sell the fanbase on some dude named Haywood Highsmith starting. They’re going to do something, its just a matter of when and what.

I think i’ve studied basically every team depth chart and financials and this is the best fit I can come up with for Duncan and also it making sense for us. Beilein being in Detroit in control of player development is the icing.

So let’s we strike out on Durant and Kyrie and Mitchell stays (this is what I expect to happen)

We trade Robinson and 2nd for Olynyk
Resign Caleb Martin to a bigger deal or tj warren
Maybe resign kieff for the min

Bam dedmon yurt
Olynk/caleb/kief
Jimmy/strus
Herro/dipo
Lowry/gabe

A nice team, don’t think championship worthy unless everything goes our way and luck but at least we’ll have herro picks and other contracts to move at the trade deadline for a lillard, mitchell, Beal if they become available

Again not ideal but this might be the best we can do for now

For Herro, no thanks.

Kyrie might be better now but considering age, character, salary and just him being unbearable - I'd pass.

And it feels like that's where it is now. Herro wouldn't need to be included. So you trade Lowry and draft compensation for Kyrie. If he goes AWOL then all you've lost for him is a retired PG and picks you were going to trade anyway. If that's all it takes then it's an easy choice for me.

Here’s the issue, Lowry has 2 years left on his deal and Westbrook 1…so for Brooklyn to want to take lowers deal I’m sure they’ll ask for herro

And to be honest at this point I’m not so sure I’m not opposed, remember heroes gonna want a big deal and Kyrie IF his head is on right and wants to be here long term is an elite player

Ok guys I’m just gonna combine everything here and tell me what you think, I think all these trades are realistic and might be the best we can do when you consider I doubt we can get Durant and ainge is gonna prob keep Mitchell or hold out for some insane ransom

1. Trade Duncan and a 2nd for Olynyk
2. Sign and trade Caleb Martin to suns for crowder
3. Trade Lowry, herro and a future 1 for Kyrie and then negotiate extension for Kyrie

Bam
Crowder/olynyk
Jimmy/strus
Strus/dipo
Kyrie/gabe

Very balanced team with upside

From what was reported Herro is off limits in a Kyrie deal. Tbh there really isnt a market for Kyrie besides LA so no reason to give up our best young asset. I think that deal would look something like Lowry to a third team, asset from third team + one of our firsts to Brooklyn for Kyrie. I’d do it just to stick it to Cabron

Lowry is not an expiring contract. Westbrook is

Caleb Martin is a non bird free agent, and can’t be used in a sign and trade.

Suns just signed Okogie and a S&T of Martin for Crowder is too complicated to bother.

I wish people would stop saying, well we can trade trash player X (screw it, Lowry and Duncan) to some magical third party team to make trades work. People dont want our trash unless it comes with compensation. Lowry next year becomes an expiring, not this year.
