Go back to Pre-Wade Miami Heat?

Size and Power it is then and in looking back at the 2000 Heat roster kinda reminds me of the old movie Slapshot Charleston Chiefs, a big team peppered with some goons that can somewhat grind opp down. Def dwarfs the current team roster, esp at the C and PF positions!

12 Bruce Bowen SF 6-7 185
25 Anthony Carter PG 6-1 190
4 Duane Causwell C 7-0
23 Cedric Ceballos SF 6-7 220
21 Ricky Davis SG 6-6 195
35 Todd Fuller C 6-11 255
44 Brian Grant PF 6-10 254
45 A.C. Green PF 6-9 220
10 Tim Hardaway PG 6-0 175
5 Eddie House PG 6-1 180
6 Eddie Jones SG 6-6 190
7 Don MacLean SF 6-10 235
9 Dan Majerle SG 6-6 215
14 Anthony Mason PF 6-8 250
33 Alonzo Mourning C 6-11 240
13 Jamal Robinson SF 6-7 212

Don't get me started on this team. This was the year, man. The team was set up to bring Miami its first championship. Devastatingly lost absolute prime Zo (2nd in MVP voting the prior season) to his kidney disease and our shot withered away.

Zo's illness was absolutely heart breaking but from that got to see an undersized Brian Grant just step into the C spot with zero complaints and go at it!

Brian and Anthony Mason stepped up and deserve props. But, that just makes me think of what could have been with Zo even moreso. We're talking 96 minutes of all-star level frontcourt rotation anchored by a 20-10 DPOY that was a top 5-10 player in the league at the time. Best frontcourt rotation in the NBA with the DPOY is just what was needed for a Finals run and to compete with Shaq's lakers.

Best frontcourt in the NBA. All-star wing scorer that is the epitome of a 3&D star just acquired with Eddie Jones. The prototype 3&D role player in Bruce Bowen. Thunder Dan sniping 3s off the bench. Vet former All-Star PG in Timmy setting it all up.

That team was set up to shut everyone down and beat everyone up.

Could not agree with you more! Ironically from this disappointment is when BG became my favorite Heat player along with Zo.

Can we please get a Pacers G1 win, or a Celtics injury? I'll take either one. Thanks.

Lmao 12-0 start guess we're rooting for an injury.
