We’re either getting Dame discounted this summer after the Bucks get bounced round 2 at the latest or getting in the DM sweepstakes if the Cavs don’t let him go into free agency next summer. Or Pat will just be in a deep slumber

Daffy wrote:I'm seeing post about fans feeling entitled that their team should be championship winners or saying the all in mentality isn't right and you should just enjoy competitive games. No **** that.
What is players had that mind set after getting drafted. "Oh well I finally got drafted. I'm making enough money to take care of myself and my family. I just need to play and get paid thats all. If we win we win. If we lose oh well." Yall would hate a player if they came out and said that. You know why some players still play so hard after getting paid and why some teams consistent try to go all in? Because they're trying to accomplish that goal. Be the best they can be at the end of the season by winning the ring. It's a competitive sport and for some fans who never made it to the league or are just naturally competitive that's why we want to win.
Teams that have been terrible for 20 years keep trying to win the lottery. Why? So they can hopefully land the best prospects so that they can.....win. If as a fan you're okay with just being good and competitive and not winning then that's good for you but not everyone can relate to that mindset. I'm a Chargers fan in NFL and we haven't won **** and it's so disappointing. It's night and day between being a Heat Fan on one side and a Charger fan on the next. You don't know how bad I want a championship as a Charger fan. You call it an ego boost. No it's called a payoff for being a fan who doesn't collect a check from the league like the players. As a fan I don't give a **** about the owner paying the tax. That's their issue. Not ours. As fans we lose our jobs we probably have to sleep on the street. These owners can afford to pay the afford or if they can't then they'll address it. One of the reasons you'll never ever see me coming up with trade scenarios on how to save an owner money. They make so much money off of us as fans buying merchandise or watching. I'd be silly to be concerned about their pockets. They're in a rich man's game.
So yes as a fan it's always championship or bust because that's the ultimate goal. You can enjoy the games and development throughout the season but to pretend like winning a ring isn't the goal or doesn't matter is ridiculous.
YOU don't get the show!! Lol.
You missed the pt completely. Don't wanna repeat so everyone can understand, lol

Thats a prolific starting five. Would prefer more defense due to having Lillard and Curry as generational scorers.
Would swap Lebron and Durant for Kawhi and Embiid.

Id move Butler to the bench. Id rather see a starting five of Bam, Jovic, Martin, Duncan and Delon/Rich/Jaime. Its not the biggest names but I feel like the fit would be better to start games.
Then you have Butler and Herro subbing in to bring some pop.

Steph and Lillard are redundant and has zero point of attack defense. Too many shooters and ball handlers on the court, you need a bit more balance. Durant, Steph are enough, lebron and Bam surrounded by those two are great. Slide Bam down to PF, Kevin to SF, Steph SG, Lebron PG put a defensive minded Center that can shot block with size. Embiid is perfect.

My thoughts were that Bam and Kawhi would handle mid range and out with Embiid controlling the post.
Theyd be pretty potent on D, allowing Curry and Lillard to shoot from half court.

Ya, that's a terrible back court. But it's Dame's fantasy team, so whatever. He should take Curry out and put the prime Clay in. I think he's just being safe from backlashes by putting Curry in there, lol

Terrible is a strong word lol those are 2 very elite players and 3 level scorers. Put good defenders next to them and they’re fine, I mean we’ve managed to do it with Lowry/Rozier/Herro/Strus/Duncan on the backcourt at times

They are hall of fame talents, yes. Not saying there are terrible players. Terrible defensively n redundant skillsets. But again it's his dream team, let him daydream.
Hey, we don't even wanna put Herro n Duncan together for the obvious defensive weaknesses, lol

The Herro/ Dragic bench pairing seemed to work years back
Maybe recreate it with Herro/ Rozier as co 6-men and have a starting five of:
Martin
Duncan
Butler
Niko
Bam

Time to move on from the Dame nonsense. Its getting kinda pathetic in here.
He had his chance to be in Miami, but he and his agent were bent over and embarrassed by Cronin.

I can get with that too. Thatd be a 3 headed bench monster along with JJJ.

Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread 5.0 - Somebody save us
One thing people who want the younger players to start/get big minutes miss on trying to make the players play the right by forcing them to adapt to play the right way before getting consistent minutes. This is why Miami is having so much success with nondrafted players, they'll do whatever they have to, even limiting their game for a role to make the NBA, some more "gifted" players won't, they'll play how they want to because they're so gifted, for instance... Karl Anthony Towns (the owner pushed for both Towns and Wiggins to get a ton of minutes from the beginning). You can ruin a player giving them too much rope and allowing them to get away with bad habits early on in their careers which can lead to bad habits most of their career. Towns should be an MVP level player every single year, the talent is there, the mindset isn't.
Probably the best way unless you have the right player wanting to maximize themselves is to make young players earn their minutes which also means having enough talent throughout the roster to not stick them behind a bad player. Lots of bad teams keep drafting at the top of the draft because they never put together the right environment to get their players to maximize their play, Houston was heading down this path and have fixed themselves, Detroit... I have no idea if they turn it around anytime soon.
If Jovic has the right mindset (which it seems he does), he'll be a better player doing it this way.

Jaime Jáquez Jr., Mexican promise of the Miami Heat and participant in the NBA All-Star Weekend, is emerging as the next Latin American basketball star. With a legacy of greats like Shaq and LeBron, find out in our March cover interview how Triple J joins the story.

It’s not over and it will be discussed. We got Jimmy the same way.
