Miami won’t be the only suitor for KD
Until they actually win one of these bidding wars, I’m taking a ‘not holding my breath’ approach
Not to beat a dead horse but KD is going to go exactly where he wants to go. We just have to hope it’s still Miami as the team he wants to play for if not Phoenix. If not then it’s not happening
Typically, players have a short list of acceptable teams that they are willing to go to.
It’s then incumbent upon those team to make an acceptable trade offer, and therein lies the problem.
Mia’s offers have been easily trumped in recent years and until that changes, I’m not holding my breath that it will.
Well he had his 1 preferred (Suns) last time and I guess a “well if that just has no chance of happening then Miami” so if you want to call that a list then sure. I think someone like KD in this point in time is going to have 1 destination and he’s going to get there.
If it turns into a bidding war then for the first time in a long time we actually have assets between all the young guys, Duncan Terry and Anderson’s expirings, Wiggins is needed, and 3 1sts available for trade. I’m going to guess if it turns into a bidding war we’ll lose because we don’t want to give anything up (which was the case at the deadline, the case with Dame, the case with Mitchell, etc) not because we lack the assets
