Im not saying either of these guys are flat out better than mo williams obviously, but i do think they provide a little more youth on the defensive side.

Seriously? These guys are awful basketball players and arguably not even NBA caliber. They're both horrendous on offense and neither is known as a defensive player. You'd honestly have to be insane to prefer one of these guys over Williams.

No one is saying Mo is some great player but he'd be a quality contributor off the bench and for 3 million, he's a steal.

Well that's disapointing. He did very well in summer league, you really couldn't expect him to do any better.

Will be intersting to see who are we going after to complete the roster.

I guess Mo and Varnado must be the front runners for the last 2 spots, but if we trade joel away..it's really unclear who else will we try to get. i thought Ennis had a good chance to make it.

Better for him to get some playing time overseas rather than being glued to the bench all year. Next year, when Ray+Shane come off the books (and maybe retire), the Heat now have (hopefully) a quality back-up with some experience coming over for cheap. Hopefully Joel gets traded, Varnado+Mo are added and the Heat can keep a space open incase someone shakes loose later on.

Al Harrington would be great. I don't trust that Rashard Lewis and Battier can last the entire season. Battier always rises to the occasion but he goes through some crazy slumps

I'm not against Harrington, I feel like Rashard produced well enough when he was in the rotation though.I really want JJ to get some regular season burn though, I hate that hes just sticking around cause were winners and his home town team. Hes too good a shooter to only get to play in blow outs.

roddy beaubois can score,he dropped 40 in a game as a rookie, he has upside but he keep getting hurt. He was called Roddy buckets for a reason.

Yeah, I've always wanted the Heat to acquire a combo guard who's gotten worse every year he's been in the league, is injury prone, and shot a stunning 37% last year with 29% from 3.

With Miller gone and Ennis likely overseas, it seems inevitable that JJ will get burn, at least when Wade/Ray/Shane miss games here and there or get into foul trouble, or on long road trips and back-to-backs. He might even end up a rotation regular depending on how things shake out.

People like to joke that Miller got saved for the playoffs, but he played in 59 games last season, and JJ just slid into his spot by default.

Funny thought: I remember when posters on this board killed Spo for starting JJ and/or Diawara at PF way back in the day. Now it seems like it would be an obvious, or at least not controversial, choice.

Regarding your funny thought: We have different personnel now that allows us to play a style we couldn't play before. While JJ may start at PF, you can bet he'll most likely not end up defending the opposing team's PF or play the PF role defensively. LeBron James provides us with the versatility to run such lineups, which otherwise wouldn't be possible.
On top of that, it's not as if our small ball lineups haven't been burned before despite having LBJ on the team. It can work, depending on the matchup, and provide very good offensive ratings, but is not a long term solution for an entire season, especially if you don't have the players to pull such a lineup off.

Praise the lord, just another player on the roster that wouldn't have made an impact.

I didn't say I wanted him on the heat. You called him a scrub with no offensive game. I was just telling you that was false. Injury prone is right but he had some upside.

don't worry Cmon_son. They have no idea what they're talking about.

When Beaubois proves himself again somewhere next season they'll have developed amnesia.

We might ship Ennis TFO to Europe and bring in either the Cousins or Ivan / Mo right there. Unless you guys cool with Big V. I think he is a better Joel and the Heat won plenty of Championship with him.
