It is really hard to watch from the outside, but the truth is we were embarrassed by a team that was pretty good. We still suck. We are really a terrible team, and we would have been crushed even worse in the second round matchup.

I'm holding off on that "pretty good team" until they beat someone else that isn't missing most of their scoring and plays some defense.

Let's not get carried away about the Hawks. I like the Hawks but they didn't win because of great offense. They were defended pretty well. I don't want to take credit from Atlanta, but 76ers lost this series because their 30 mill dollar star, Ben Simmons just froze to death. Like the Bucks did to the Heat, the Hawks only had to defend 4 players.

Heat and 76ers lost in this yr playoffs because of unusual situation, two stars not willing to score. It was not about style of play.

If you simply replace Ben Simmons for lets say Antoine Walker, the 76ers blow out the Hawks.

Hawks still have ways to go but they are progressing. They need to get their two young forwards back and get some of this experience

Let's see if this help Huerter confidence because he been quite a disappointment for the past couple of yrs.

Agreed.

And I hate the Hawks.

This Hawks team is completely showcasing the point I've been trying to make for 3 years now - It's all about the shooting.

They have like 2 plus defenders but almost everyone is dangerous from 3. Great spacing. They don't have great talent level as a team, but they're built for this era :

1 main 3 level scorer
a couple of secondary creators
a big that plays big and defends the rim.

Simple and effective.

sounds like a bootleg GS team pre KD.

Trae = bootleg Curry
Huerter = albino Klay
Bogdan/Dalio = a bunch of capable shooters
John Collins = ??? Harrison Burnes
Capela = Looney/Bogut

They have a shot if Bux's role players continue to disappear, but I"m rooting for em Suns for Kaminsky reasons

You just had to bring Kaminsky into this eh

Bucks aren't even playing good.

They're wining on health, size, physicality and Giannis's awkward game.

It'll be a glorious day when Giannis awkwardly hoists Billy O'Byant and FMVP trophies before James Harden

Just think about it : they lost for years and years on purpose and got a ton of high picks - yet never achieved anything close to what our glorified G-league Ikea built team did in the bubble.

Must sting like a MF.

This redeemed the postseason for me. :-)

To put that into perspective, Elgin Baylor has 23,149 points (31st all time) and Clyde Drexler has 22,195 (32nd). Wade is next at 23,165. You have more RealGM posts than James Harden, Russ, Gary Payton, Larry Bird have NBA regular szn points. Great company.

I think its Bookers year for FMVP.

Id be good with Giannis winning it though because i feel there are some players around the league that are uncomfortable with him on a personal level… not sure what it is, if its the fact that hes from greece and has an accent, (he is black his roots are from Nigeria) but there is a weirdness on how others talk and treat Giannis on the court.

I believe Jay Williams interaction with Durant to be true… and everyone knows what Harden has said about Giannis.

Wonder where that post count ranks on the Heat forum? Top ten? More likely top 20.

You said it favored Sixers, til they lost. Then it wasn't Atlanta playing good defense, it was Ben acting strange because Mars is in retrograde, or something...

Hopefully Ben Simmons goes to a team that will tell him PG is out of the question and he will be PF or C and he'll be their only low post player on the court. He can be an incredible defender and also play the same role Bam has(minus the jumper) but he can not do that with a dominate low post player like Embiid on the court with him.

Portland should go for a hail mary for 1 year before going into rebuilding mode, keep Dame, acquire Simmons, add D'Antoni and go for the 3pt offense with Dame playing Harden's spot and Simmons playing Capella's old spot with switch everything defense and running anytime possible with Simmons.

If they try D'Antoni for a season they can atleast inflate Dame's stats to get an even bigger haul for him. Maybe if Simmons finally dedicates himself to learning to shoot from 15 feet they could possibly cash out on him too.

Return to Miami Heat
