I actually forgot about him and id love him on this team… though he is looking at more minutes in Washington

So Gabe is our backup PG? I sure hope we sign/acquire someone. He's just an awful basketball player all around. Not NBA quality.

Can’t even stop and appreciate the Lowry signing. A miserable, spoiled bunch.
Don't get so caught up in it or you'll end up as miserable as we are. Fans had higher hopes and are blowing off steam. None of this bitching is going to affect the product on the court. If the team plays well, most of the board will settle down.

We a 6-8 east team?
We are better than than the Hawks and Sixers. Especially if Hawks lose both Collins and Williams and Sixers did nothing to improve and bringing back Simmons after trying to trade him all offseason. Bulls still need to prove it. I think we'll be fighting for that 3rd seed.

"Nunn turned down significantly more money to chase a title with the Lakers"
damn.
Nunn has that dog spirit in him, he is going to keep working hard to be something in the league.
We will regret losing him and going with Herro instead.

He’ll be 36 in next years playoffs and he used us to get one last payday…what’s to appreciate?

Riley is the only good thing about our front office.
Arison is a cheap ass **** owner. Any owner in the world can pay salaries within the confines of the salary cap and never go into luxury tax.

If we are being honest here, there was a lot of hope yesterday that they were going to pull some magic out of a hat. These moves don't feel like over all improvement this season. We had two positional improvements in Tucker over Ariza and Lowry over Dragic but those moves also tanked most of our flexibility. Our bench wasn't amazing last year but I doubt anyone is thinking that we have a chance to exceed its performance this year. Spo is a highly regarded coach that most of us view fondly. But even the most ardent Heat fan would have to be deliberately ignoring the game to not see Spo's difficulties with offensive schemes. A good assistant coach hiring would probably help that as Spo specializes more with defense and development. Riley has made many great moves, but has shown a certain disregard towards engaging younger talent through the draft. If you are not questioning the logic of today's moves then you are engaging in homerism and not looking at how the rest of the NBA landscape is transforming. Right now we are one injury away from a lost season. That isn't great roster construction. We aren't done yet, but our potential pickups are now limited to selecting from what is remaining.

Hope so! Here’s hoping that Kahwi realises how stacked lakers are and jumps ship to the east and joins *ahem ahem* Miami. Nobody in the west beating lakers if they stay healthy.

That fact Mia wouldn't do 5m for Nunn who was the best offensive player for Mia in a number of games these past 2 years is pretty baffling.
Hope they have a better backup PG option than Vincent lined up.

I don't think free agency played out nearly the way Nunn had hoped it would.

People need to chill. It's not over yet. Not even close. We were never going to keep Nunn.
We're going to sign a veteran like Lou Williams, get a Paul Millsap type and a Danny Green type, and run with a bench of Lou Williams, Tyler Herro, Danny Green, Paul Millsap, and Dewayne Dedmon.
Breathe, people...

Letting Nunn go for nothing is roster mismanagement.
What makes you think they didn’t explore trades? If the teams that want him could pay him out right, why would they give anything else for him?
So GM Lebron won because he got Nunn without using a single asset? These are strange times we are in.

Adding on top of his point is the fact that, unless we do some significant additions to our bench then we are going to have to be top heavy on minutes with an older roster excluding Bam and Herro. That doesn't sound like a recipe for a team that is small and is going to have to out speed the other team. If you lack supreme athleticism to play that up tempo game you need a deep bench with quick rotations to prevent players from burning out.
Give it up. This team is not running. Despite his history with the Showtime Lakers, Pat doesn't like it when we play fast.
I accepted this years ago.
It must be crazy as a young player coming to the Heat that this is how we play.

No it didn't at all but he did get to choose what made him happy. I cant believe that Heat didn't want him. That makes no sense at all.Beenie wrote:twix2500 wrote:I think Nunn wanted out. Mia's victories will be grinds this season.
The blowout wins they enjoyed 2 years ago will be a scarcely enjoyable event this season.
