I'm not one to say we should blow it up every year when we suck, but this is truly the year where the window is clearly closed unless they make some big splash out of nowhere. This is the year to start over. It's done. Even last year, Jimmy had to be Superman. You can tell this team just isn't built to win a championship. Other teams have great defense and size. They have star power. We think we can out hustle teams and shoot 100 3s to victory, but that just wears the whole team out. How many times does this defense get a stop to only give up an offensive rebound and then a 3?

Like I said, I love all the runs we've had with this core. But we were just that underdog team with the long shot chance and we're not even that anymore. It was fun while it lasted.

At this point in time, I dunno about keeping Bam and Jimmy. They are both max players but they are not scorers. Then we have a point guard who is old with a high salary. What are we going to do? Trade for more role players?

Bam was one of the main reason we collapsed got a dumb offensive foul could had put us up 1. Hes limited I rather have butler taking his shots

His one turnover

Give him the ball more. He’s way too good for those guys

The team looked far better on both ends without Herro for 43 minutes if we’re being completely honest. Horrible coaching job though. No clue how the night would’ve went with Herro so don’t come ripping my dixk off

Right move would had been to trade bam for KD.

And I disagree with a lot of you. A couple role players can change this team a lot. We haven’t gotten blown out yet. Every game is pretty much winable. A Myles turner at the 5 would make this team 5x better just because of fit and solves a lot of issues

I guess Miami is football town again if the Dolphins keep winning (the Canes are an embarrassment).

I really don't want this team struggling and staying right at .500 ball missing out on a top pick. Go full tilt and let it rip...restart next year.

This is the perfect year to rebuild. We own our lottery picks all the way up to 2025. Butler still has some value so we can get a good return for him if we moved him. As we see with Lebron, with older players the wheel suddenly fall off. Butler is 33 and isn't a great shooter so when it does fall off that contract will be ugly. We can get ahead of that early.
FO has shown to be great at drafting with low end picks. They can do even better with lotter picks for 2 or 3 seasons. All the teams that won multiple championships recently were ones that had a franchisee player that was drafted. Once you have that guy, building a contender is a lot easier

Good effort against a good team but we look fractured and on life support.

A nice win streak would calm fears

We have nowhere near those defenders anymore yet we still run the same sets. It’s the same damn schemes for years now

These are just some of the many common sense self inflicted injuries this team causes itself. At this point im fine with blowing it up. The fans are disgusted by the team, and this is Miami, if you're not winning you mean nothing (unless you are the Fins) so just blow it up because lord knows we need new blood and talent on the team.

Turner is an expiring deal so Indiana will certainly want draft capital. The question becomes what is the ceiling with this team as constructed with a guy like Turner - if the answer is 2nd round, we’re better off holding the pick and eating the season.

Heat have been needing a rebuild since the Bosh blood clots. Every team who’s competitive right now has gone through their down seasons to get to where they’re at

Come on guys it's okay! we are exactly what we should be... in the Bubble we over achieved, last season we over achieved... let's be grateful! this will lead us to a championship, maybe in the bam and herro era

SO HEAT, STOP WASTING !!!

Is it bad asset management to use 3 picks to bring in Turner, Buddy or some PG, and another young solid role player like Vanderbilt if Lowry and Duncan are going out?

Maybe Duncan and salary filler with 2 1sts for like Turner and Vanderbilt if we decide to keep Lowry?

We had down seasons lol we’ve been to a finals and we’re 1 shot away from a 2nd in a 3 year span. This bubble fluke/got lucky type talk from some is just plain wrong. You don’t make it to the finals on a fluke

Also, Butler deserves a lot of blame, Portland put Dame on him a lot in the 4th and he didn't look to take advantage of that matchup.
