Would it be a trap to give him real money?

Depends on what you mean by real money. But I will say that Strus actually seems to enjoy playing basketball. I’d be surprised to see him stop giving a **** once paid. I’ve never gotten that feeling from Duncan. Duncan seems like he got into basketball bc his parents had camp money and he’s tall.

Strus has developed into a 2-3 level scorer and is showing ability to get to the line.

I have 0 issues paying him, he’s legit and he has the mindset to be great. He won’t be another Duncan.

I still want a team friendly deal though. 5/60-70

Yes. Giving significant money to a replaceable player is always going to bite you. Sometimes harder than others, but it always bites.

Just like 6’1 rotating on 6’8 makes sense right? Are the players complaining about that?

It's the scheme, they fight for position, sometimes the other team gets easy baskets, sometimes they turn it over or miss the shot with a 2nd defender helping. There's pluses and minuses for each scheme. Yes I'd like some size on the court but I'm more worried about players being in the right spots, it's quite possible Jovic could be in the rotation by the end of the year. I'm sure the coaching staff is watching Jovic to see how serious he is to fix his issues.

There are reasons why young talented teams don't win all that often.

Its actually shown to be the best analytical play on the switch it hurts when the other team converts but it works more than it hurts.

I know fans hate that, but it has a history of working.

The last time i’ve seen small ball deployed like this was D’Antoni. Cool for regular season but gets exposed in the playoffs

I don't understand how he still has this up on YouTube. It was absolutely ridiculous that he did it in the first place.

Strus shot profile seems to be a 3 or a shot at the rim. I’m completely fine with that, especially if he’s able to take contact and draw fouls when he attacks. He’s athletic and strong

I agree with that, but this isn't the plan. This is just where we are right now. Our current roster is ridiculous.

That would work for us, but I doubt it works for him. He's bound to get a better offer.

He also defends. He is not a great defender, but is average to above average.

He had one NBA skill but now he's "expanded" his game so he's no longer working as hard to get those open 3s since that's not his only option and it's hurting him and the team. If I'm the other team any time he attacks the basket it's a win.

I won’t even give him that tbh. He was trash well before they spent that summer trying to give him skills to expand his game. In fact him being such a disappointment that season was WHY they worked on other things with him if I recall correctly.

If my memory serves me, I remember how he used to brick shots after shots the seasons prior to the fluke year. It was the same as it is now, except the jokes were about Dunkin’ Donuts and the lack of holes. So I’m not a bit surprised that he is back to garbage Duncan. I wish it wasn’t the case, but it is.

Not gonna happen. Sorry bud. Players who are playing well like that just price themselves out of our assets. You need to find a good buy low.

His stout body frame allows him to body up and square up well on defense. Unlike Clunkan

Still early, he will wait until its like the last 4 minutes in the 4th quarter to go full bore ahead for the win.

Win or lose i could care less tonight. I’m just thrilled to see Jovic play hoops. He’s truly the X Factor for this team with his skillset and size next to Bam and Butler

The last few games I've noticed he's started looking to shoot the gaps on defense trying to get those easy steal/scores when the other team is reversing the ball on offense, just like the ones Butler gets. He about did it in the 1st half.

Return to Miami Heat
