Last year when they did the trade, I thought they were trying to get both Jimmy and Durant. That would have been the smartest move and actually made them favorites.
This is where I have to give credit to our FO, because we do not give loyalty (at a price), ever. Not even to the guys that objectively did deserve it from us, like Wade. Meanwhile GSW FO has been holding on to Draymond out of pure nostalgia and I suppose also due to his locker room presence. But at his price tag? Terrible decision by their FO imo. That's not even getting to them letting him run Durant out of town in the first place, which literally killed their chance at a much longer dynasty.
Now that team is nothing without Steph because none of the guys they have left have the ability to score with ease, despite it's salary. Jimmy is built for playoff basketball, and is not about to put his body on the line night in and night out to draw fouls or put a team on his back. So they really have to depend on Steph and his gravity.
Draymond's earning less than Terry Rozier.
Draymond has a four-year, $100 million, Rozier has a 4-year, $96.3 million
And Draymond is 35 years old and Rozier is 31. So I will still say Draymond was overpaid. Realistically he never should have been chosen over KD by GS's FO to begin with. But that's just my opinion, I'm sure some disagree.
