Exactly and why would spend the exception on a PG when we have a gaping hole at the 4
I think the idea is that Spo would play the new PG at PF. Problem solved.

Eventually, we'll reach Spo's dream of playing 5 PG's at all the positions. True small ball.

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
On the "thought" of Miami having interested in Schröder. He's a bad defender but can be a scoring 6th man. So, if Miami is going big game hunting, and you're probably moving Herro and possibly Gabe in a package; you're going to need a scoring 6th man off the bench which Schröder can be, he did well in that role in OKC, in 30 minutes a game off the bench he scored 18.9 points on 14.8 FGA and 4 assists which was just 2 seasons ago. In Boston they wanted more of a 2-way player in his spot, so they went out and acquired White, Miami probably won't have this luxury since they don't have a ton of assets.
I don't think Miami has any intention of signing him to start.

If Riley signs Schroder it’s probably contingent on going to a tattoo removal clinic lol

We can use Schroder for sure. Other then TJ, Ayton and Morris everybody is a scrub as far as FA.

I would not put it past Spo to run a 6 feet and under lineup

Perfect fit for the TPMLE. Only 26 and has a great feel for the game. Needs a good opportunity and I think that’s here. Another rub in Ainge face signing for letting him go.

how so? did any of those seasons end in titles? why should we proud of just making an ECF, or making a Finals? wrong kinda of mentality to have imo.
You are crazy if you think anything less than a three peat is failure. Completely unrealistic expectations for any team in history.
the heats goal is to win a title, not conference finals. thats the expectation of the organization, not just mines. well just have to agree to disasgree and leave it there.
“I don’t think it was a waste of a year,” Riley said. “I’ve had that feeling myself as a coach when you’ve done as much as you can do. It was championship or bust for Kyle. He’s very, very disappointed in the fact we couldn’t get to the Finals and winning.”
That was Riley at the end of season press conference. Winning a championship is a goal but not an expectation. Riley and Spo have too much respect for the game and competition to treat it as an expectation. It’s about competing to win. Not being entitled to win.

I get it. He's one strange dude. However, if we just run it back....actually losing PJ hurts, then we are 2nd round fodder. I'd jump at the chance to get a guy who's good enough to take over a game and fills our greatest need. Butlers prime days are drawing close to an end.
Love Herro, and understand all the concerns over Kyrie...
But for what's at hand, it's a worthwhile gamble. Need a scorer in the playoffs now, and not later, if we can even bet on Herro being the same type of scorer
Jimmy needs help and Kyrie's likely the best that he can get rn, it's an opportunity worth mulling over

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
We signed Caleb Martin last year off the scrap heap on a 2 way contract. He did well for us last year but don't think it makes sense to over pay him with our TPLMLE. Let him prove himself again this year on a 2.3 million early bird deal and get another year under his belt. Next year if he has another good year we can reward him with over 10 million on the second year of his early bird. No reason to overpay him this year.

Agree 100%
This is especially true given the TPMLE is our only tool to upgrade through free agency.

Is this realistic? Cody just got 4/32 and I always thought Caleb was the better twin.
