DeRozan is not signing for 5 million so a S&T for Duncan or Herro’s salary slot is the only option.

Right, and in a multi-team trade you can possibly get more assets along with DeRozan.

Might as well sign Lowry back for the minimum if we get DeRozan.

Thinking the same--almost have him operate as the de facto PG bringing the ball up and running offense. In this scenario, it may even make sense to keep Herro in the starting lineup over Rozier as the superior C&S 3 pt shooter.

We can make DeRozan work i’m not concerned. Jovic is basically a big shooting wing in the lineup.

Imagine being the Bulls and having both Herro AND LaVine together at their money and durability

Does it rhyme with Shmoe Crobin’s mass?

DeRozan is a premier scorer in this league and for one year and getting out of some of these contracts and I like where we are going here. Also we pay OKC there pick next year giving us much needed future flexibility with trades.

It’s most likely Duncan and not Herro unless a third team is involved which could be.

Yeah they won't want Herro with LaVine there, would be hilarious though I'd almost feel bad for them....almost.

Boys and Girls,

I see y'all are in a bind. Lucky for you, generous Uncle Jerry is willing to help.

You can start with Bam and we'll go from there.

Honestly if this is the only avenue then I don't think we're getting Derozan.

Derozan somehow still available with money drying up around the league could save our offseason.

I'm a huge derozan fanboi. Dude produces. Sending Duncan or Tyler out for assets and cap space that will allow us to give MLE of 12.4M to derozan or more, would be clutch af. We'd also have some money (depending on trade) to bring back haywood. Surprised caleb opted out. If he was getting a bag he would've gotten it already. Tbd

I just don't see him signing anywhere for 5.4 MLE which is max apron teams can offer.

That's 3 non-shooters in our lineup though. Bam, Derozan, and Jimmy.

On the flip side. That's a lot of trips to the line especially if Rozier can regain his early form of getting to the line like he did with Charlotte.

DeRozan made 28.5 million last year and Herro makes 29. We really could see something happening with Herro here.

Derozan - Rozier - Richardson
Herro - Jaquez - Richardson
Butler - Jaquez
Jovic - Highsmith(?)/Love
Bam - Ware/Love

Keep Herro launching at least 8 3PAs per game, but cut out some other part of his shot diet. Lacking the quick POA defenders, so might as well lean into it and go jumbo sized. Derozan is a higher usage player than Jimmy for their careers, so it suits Jimmy--especially in regular season. Have Derozan on the ball more so some of the spacing concerns are mitigated. Allow Jimmy to be the baseline merchant he wants to be (with a quicker trigger on corner 3s). Get Jovic up around 30 mpg with an aim of firing off 7 3PA per game. Top 7 players in rotation all reliable ballhandlers.

If there's a path to get it done, it's an interesting stopgap measure while the youth develops and Miami gears up for the next shot.
