Sure its unlikely but if that's his decision then its a 100% certainty that he won't be moved and spends the rest of his career watching from home come June. If Paul wants to be stubborn and think he deserves an unprecedented $44mil at age 37 then that's up to him.

It really doesn't matter to Miami if he wants to keep his money. But by all indications and how quickly CP3 and his agent are trying to get him out of OKC I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back to reality and decides to take a two year 6mil per room exception in 2021 to get moved to Miami.

Most realistic, he plays great and gets traded for or year three of his deal he works on a buy out and plays for a contender. The idea of leaving 40+ mil is beyond stupid. Wade left the Heat when we didnt want to pay him market value. This is a business first and foremost not some family, i fully expect him to keep his 40+ mil and get a buyout in the last year.

Heck lets be realistic here. Even if he gives up 40+ mil we would still not be the favorites to make it out of the East. Yeah unless he is getting financial advice from Anthony Cater and Sprewel, even then lol they would tell him to keep the money.

Chris Paul is earning waaaay beyond his market value to end his career. Its more stupid to think a franchise is going to buyout a $44mil contract. I'll be surprised if any other team trades for Paul. Even we arent really interested and we were one of two teams showing interest in Westbrook.

So naturally, they should trade him for below market value...
Whats his market value?

More than an expiring Goran Dragic, who really isn't much (if any) of an upgrade over Jeff Teague...

He's not garbage, but there is a sense of realism that has to come into play. This is just common sense. Dragic doesn't have that kind of value...

So we gonna sit here and try to use Goran to get Beal, Russ and Love. But role playing Covington is beyond the team means. Meanwhile Goran the 2nd best player on the Heat.

Gold! Haha. I've been getting this leadership vibe from Bam lately. Idk if it's because he's at the summer league games. He was the one there first, then everyone followed suite.

No, we're going to understand the Dragic doesn't get any of those players (including RoCo) without (in some cases, heavy) incentive. Realism, my friend. We'd need to pay them. Dragic is the filler. if he's as valuable as you think, he'd be in Dallas right now and we'd still have our 2023 first...

Guys what is stopping the Thunder from just acquiring Beal themselves?

Assuming Beal doesn't sign the extension.

But after a conversation with Heat Brand Ambassador Dwyane Wade, you never know what can happen.

Lakers ambassador LeBron James would also be happy to have his best friend on the team, somehow some way.

There's definitely a warped perception with Dragic.

Everyone thinks Whiteside was cancer, but a contender that's stacked at center gladly took him on.

Meanwhile, people here love Dragic and no one in the NBA will trade for him, despite having incentive to, like Dallas (need a PG, good friends with Doncic, etc).

Riley’s career is on life support right now. Teams know he’s desperate to make a move. He’s got no hand.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Wizards don't want to just give up Beal like that and they shouldn't. But if the Wall contract is so bad for them, to the point it's crippling, they will use Beal as an incentive to move Wall and basically say hey, we're rebuilding. OKC wants cap space and to be under the tax, getting Wall doesn't help right now. Wall's contract is for four years and he won't play in possibly a year or two, his injuries are terrible.

Beal I'm sure will also like to compete. Locked up in OKC for four years during their rebuilding years isn't exactly ideal. I think they want cap space for 2021 too. Having Wall and/or Beal would just destroy all that.

Me too I am sure he feels liberated with a new feel of confidence since we traded Whiteside we essentially turned over the keys to the front court to him

He has all the tools

He can be an all star caliber big man

? acquiring one of the best players in the league without cap space, retaining flexibility and having a great developing young core to either build around or acquire another top star. If anything the FO and roster has finally stabilized.

Dragic value like all expiring contracts means little if we are not going to take back years in the deal. The Whiteside trade was basically a lateral move. Same expiring just different players. Sorta like how we traded TJ for Anderson, same contract different position, no real value. If say Dragic was being traded for Wall, then one see value from the Wizards side and they might offer picks as compensation, thats an extreme example. Expiring contracts have value to erase teams bad signing mistakes.
