Huh... been saying this for a long time. Chicago started huge media campagnes to tarnish Butler and Thibodeau(and others) and since they went so big with them it created a national narrative for them. For instance, they said they were angry at Thibodeau for playing Butler so many minutes, after firing Thibodeau, their hand picked replacement Fred Hoiberg played Butler 37 minutes a night the next 2 years... NOT A PEEP FROM THE FRONT OFFICE OR MEDIA ABOUT THAT. They really sabotage the Bulls with Thibodeau, not taking players he and his staff wanted(yes they wanted D.Green for Thibodeau's system, the FO went with M.Teague, a project that couldn't help the team anytime soon, or ever). JVG on national TV went off on what the Chicago FO was doing to Thibodeau and all Thibodeau did was keep his mouth shut and leave. ** Thibodeau was hired by the owner, not the FO, they had to make the owner hate him to get rid of him and they did that, you can hear that on him trashing Thibodeau on the way out **.
Chicago is a bad franchise. Since Reinstorf bought the team in like 83-84, they've hired ONE head coach who had NBA head coaching experience outside of Chicago... ONE(Scott Skiles)! VDN had 0 years of coaching(head coach or assistant) at any level when he was hired. The players and the staff thought the FO bugged the offices and workout areas.
Wojnarowski painted a picture of disjointed, if not outright bizarre, life at Bulls headquarters. From management trying to get Rose to sell Thibodeau out to assistant coaches worried their offices are bugged, the Bulls’ offices are a place where, regardless of how this postseason plays out, Thibodeau is not long for.
The rift between management and coach is so apparent, Wojnarowski reported that even a visiting scout could see it while watching GM Gar Forman and Thibodeau interact. And that’s when the paranoia apparently showed itself:
And with all that Thibodeau wouldn't say anything bad about the organization, even when he left.
"Ahhhh, that’s all noise," Thibodeau told Wojnarowski. "In this league, it’s so easy to get sidetracked. There’s so much noise. Trades. Free agency. This. That. Whatever. To me, none of that is important. All that matters is what we think. Are we doing the right things every day? Are we putting the proper work in? Are we playing the right way? Practicing the right way? That’s how you play well in this league. All that other stuff is just noise, it doesn’t mean anything."
https://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/tom-thibodeau-chicago-bulls-will-not-return-team-wants-him-gone-regardless-playoff-success-050515You could talk about the FO not renewing Ron Adam's contract(assistant) then watch him win assistant of the year 3 years in a row for Golden State.
He also told Butler he'd have Thibodeau bench him if he didn't take the ()#$) offer he was giving him, this is the famous Butler bet on himself and with Thibodeau not backing up Gar Forman's threat, another reason Chicago's FO wanted him out. This is another reason it seems all Thibodeau's exBulls are so loyal to him. In Minnesota it was different, the young players had ownership on their side which made Thibodeau's ability to coach them extremely hard.
"What I was told is — and I don’t know who it was in the front office; I don’t have a name — but that he was told, 'Well, if you don’t take this, we’re going to play Tony Snell your minutes. We’re going to play Tony Snell over you, and then good luck trying to get this kind of money when your number sare down. And that, if it’s true — and it’s what I was told, and I believe it, but it’s the same thing of any gossipy industry that you’re in — then it doesn’t make sense that Jimmy Butler can’t stand the front office and loves Thibs, because Thibs apparently went, 'No, I’m not playing Tony Snell over Jimmy Butler. Are you freaking kidding me?'"

https://web.archive.org/web/20130715044258/http://chicagosidesports.com/gar-formans-questionable-call-ron-adams-is-a-class-act/Miami fans are very lucky they have a good organization. When you look around, you see a lot of organizations that are perpetual losers except once in a while the stars align for a couple of season and makes them look ok to good then back to nothing. Phoenix is that way, Chicago without MJ has had little to no winning, the Clippers under Sterling while other franchises have had sustained success for the most part like Miami, San Antonio, Golden State, Toronto...
