A lot of us are gonna be so sour throughout the years about whiffing on that pick.   For our sanity I hope he turns into a pumpkin at some point if not were never gonna hear it or at least JJJ needs to turn into a similar stud.

19 teams passed him up, I dont think we need to be worried about it regardless of how he or JJJ ends up..the draft is a crapshoot

I think its Moreso that you cannot put teams picking 1-14 as passing him, those picks were solid based on where those guys stood on the information at hand. Its 15-19 that would end up having worried about passing him really (those are the teams that would look back and say huh maybe we should of taken the risk) where the guys picked were just a more cautious pick. Obviously if he turns into a superstar and we redo the draft order and he ends up as pick #1 or #2 then that is a conversation for a couple of years down the line.

Yh Whitmore may be this year's Maxey. I really wanted Heat to nab and was wtf is JJJ when we selected him. However, JJJ legit appears to be so nba ready and solid already. His athleticism is better than we thought and he has great footwork and poise for a rookie.

So, during his podcast of #thisleague Uncut Chris Haynes decided to call Lillard up just to ask him what he thought about Milwaukee late game time being called "Freak Time" and Lillard replied back... I'm not invested in that.

I do feel sorry for Lillard although he got sent to a good situation if his only goal was winning a championship(which I don't think it was, he can now end up like C.Paul being traded around his last few years in the league), he put his trust in the Portland FO years ago when they talked about a NTC and was basically told he didn't need one since they would keep building around him which also led to him extending then finding out he needed that NTC. As a high-end player past their 2nd contract meaning, they've made good money already, do 1-1s if that team has your Bird rights or 2+1 if you're going to a new team, keep the fear of being able to walk away for nothing to keep your current team building around you. I was so against LeBron doing it, I saw it keeping a franchise hostage, but I believe I was wrong after seeing Lillard and even Griffin gets treated like normal assets although the franchises utilized their emotions to help resign them. LeBron had to keep up that threat to have the franchises do whatever they could to keep him happy and not leave which meant keep the team competitive.

Huh? If you are anywhere in the 7-10 range and the guy you get is a bust while Whitmore turns out to be somebody, that is absolutely a huge miss. Because you interviewed him, worked him out, and still passed. He was being mocked as a top 10 guy.

I was going off the last mock that had him no farther than 14-15. But yeah if he turns into a great pick everyone ahead will be sorry for sure. I just don't don't think any of the teams that picked ahead of him are feeling any remorse at the moment because he looked good in summer league and pre-season, it would take a season and some for them to have buyers remorse.

That man will never look like he belongs unless he’s wearing a Heat jersey. Hope he learns to shoot though!
