38%+ here would be great

Here is what I suggest. He needs to get good at shooting the corner trey. He likes shooting at the wing. He is not consistent anywhere along the 3 pt line over the years. Likely how Spo will utilize him, he will be parked in the corners. If he can get really good at the corner three, he will have a huge impact without having to be great anywhere else at the three point line. Hope he is practicing becuase I looked at his shot chart over the years and he doesn't take many corner treys.

I'd expect he's going to concentrate on the corner 3 which is a shot he's not taken much in his career nor made at a high percentage. The highest rate of 3s he's taken in his career has been 4.3 per36 which would have him tied with Martin for 12th highest rate of 3s for Miami.

Basketball-Reference does have the corner 3s stats for each player and how often they take them.

Good enough, we don’t need him at 40% on 6 attempts. Maybe like 35%-38% on 3 attempts a game at most. Main thing is his defense, offensively it’ll be a solid mix of attacking playmaking and shooting

35 to 38 is a big difference by the way. So he is just a D guy

With his assist rate and A/TO ratio he's more than just a D guy

I disagree, Jimmy should be our #1 Option he is our most efficient players.

He needs to be aggressive yes, and initiate point of attack as much as possible that opens the game up for everyone. As of right now he is our worst efficient player behind, Jimmy, Bam, Herro his shooting splits have been horrendous, and same with his finishing. There has been nothing holding him back since day one except himself, not wanting to be overly aggressive. Even in the moments he was its been a mixed bag of good plays and bad play outcomes, he needs to clean it up a bit. However he is a small guard with a streaky jumper similar to Herro except with a faster first step, so I hope people aren't thinking he is going to be putting up Jalen Brunson numbers, cause that's not him and never has been.

The low TOs does help the offense to be more efficient in the long run with less possessions without getting a shot up. As a defensive role-player his calculated ORTG has been great the last few years which to me shows he's not playing outside of his skillset, so as long as Miami doesn't need him to score/play out of his skillset, he'll be good. The last 3 years his calculated ORTG has been 126, 127 and this year 118. To put that in perspective, only 2 players this season in Miami's expected rotation have a calculated ORTG of 118 or higher which are Butler and Love.

I agree with letting Rozier be the #1 option for most of the games, allowing Butler to rest in games and have less chances of injury with his physical style of basketball. If it's not working, you can just call Butler's number and let him go to work. I'm all for Rozier doing the heavy lifting if it's working then let Butler close the games.

If Miami's not going to unleash Rozier, I'm not sure why they traded Lowry and a 1st for him at age 29, I would think Miami could have gotten someone cheaper (asset wise) who would be nearly as good in the role.

Rozier's FG%/TS% has been bad since joining Miami but his calculated ORTG is 107, the same as Herro's and only 2 points below Martins, if/when he starts shooting better that could go up to the top half of the roster while shooting at volume.

I think people like the fit and addition of another point of attack defender that can provide some level of complementary skillset to the guard rotation. I don't see too many outlandish expectations. I expect him to emerge as a JRich substitute while he's out with his shoulder injury and then compete with JRich for that defensive rotation guard role.

Are you thinking he won't crack the rotation?

Crack the rotation? I guess he'll replace Richardson until he's close to 100% again (who knows when or if that happens this season).

Rozier, Herro, Butler, Martin and Bam.
Rest of the 9 man rotation (if they go past 8)
Robinson, Love, Jaquez Jr, and Richardson.

Options/matchups...
Highsmith, Wright, Jovic, Bryant.

I don't expect Wright to play much with everyone healthy, but he's got a good opportunity with Rich out-- but even then he's likely fighting for mins. Could be wrong tho

So, to you Miami sent a huge expiring contract and 1st round pick for a nearly 30-year-old 6th man making 20+ million for multiple years while looking to be in the tax next year? I think putting those types of assets towards Rozier means they have a bigger long-term role for him as one of the top paid players on the team.

But yes AirP if they were to run this lineup and it was cooking and leading to wins then Rozier came back and played off the bench averaging close to 20 like Herros 6MOY award and it led to deep success or even a championship I don’t think they would care in the least about the 1st they sent out.

He'll be back very soon, you only have a limited amount of time to get everything worked out before the playoffs, they're going to start Rozier this year and the next 1-2 years for the assets they sent out, why put him in a different role if someone does well (like Wright) for a game or 2, this is about the potential of the team this year and beyond.
