I personally think we will win more games then last year. Now that does not mean we are a better team, but we will be playing very fast, and have Whiteside to counter what is the big weakness for teams that like to run the floor.

You can win a lot of NBA regular season games on pace, and you can certainly steal some ones you shouldn't get because of back to backs. We may not have a lot in terms of elite level talent but we are deep with guys who can contribute. Spo has wanted to run this type of system for years now, he finally has his chance. Let's see what he can do

I'm expecting us to shoot a bunch of 3 and to push the hell out of the ball off the boards, I also expect us to return to the high pressure defensive frenzy type of approach we used in the Big 3 era. There are some lineups we can put on the floor with guys who can very easily switch onto 3 or 4 positions

If Bosh comes back (not getting my hopes up) this team might be something interesting. More so than anything I'm excited about our youth, I like the kind of character our players have, and I'm looking forward to the next era of Heat basketball

Last night I watched the Documentary Clutch City (the Houston Rockets championship) Watching the Dream was amazing, and to be honest he was more defensive than I remembered. (I just remember him schooling Shaq in the finals). I hope Hassan study Hakeem and or go down to Houston and learn from him. Our team reminds me of that team before they won there first championship... Coaching and dedication will get us through eastern conference...

I am positive that all these additions will make or break and we will trade for the correct pieces..

ESPN panel projects Heat to miss playoffs

http://www.hothothoops.com/2016/7/28/12319726/espn-summer-forecast-miami-heat

Spoiler:
It's late July -- well after the free agency bonanza early in the month -- so the Worldwide Leader in Sports has started releasing its NBA Summer Forecast. Earlier this week, the ESPN Forecast panel released its projected East standings.

And the Miami Heat? Not doing so well.

The panel predicted the Heat to finish with the 12th-best record in the East with a 36-46 record. The blurb on Miami notes the departures of Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng and Joe Johnson, but adds, "a youth movement built around Hassan Whiteside, Justise Winslow and Josh Richardson could keep Miami in the hunt."

This Heat team has a lot of questions -- starting with the health of Chris Bosh -- so a low prediction is not surprising. The rest of the Eastern Conference also experienced lots of changes, so determining the standings would be a bit of a challenge for anyone.

Cleveland is the definite favorite, but does the loss of Bismack Biyombo lead the Toronto Raptors to fall? How much will Al Horford improve the Boston Celtics, or Dwight Howard help the Atlanta Hawks? How will the Chicago Bulls fare with a backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade? That's why they play the game.

The Heat have a young nucleus -- not just Whiteside and the two rising sophomores, but Tyler Johnson and Dion Waiters. How does Waiters fit into the mix? Can Goran Dragic emerge as a veteran leader for the glut of guards on this Heat roster? All remain open questions.

Also, some people may want the Heat to miss the playoffs to get a lottery pick and commit to rebuilding in the post-Wade era. After all, the Heat got Justise Winslow with the No. 10 pick in 2015.

With the veteran presences from the Big Three era and last year gone, this Heat team is firmly committed to a younger core. But does that team overachieve and make the playoffs, or have more than its share of growing pains?

I understand Hassan is our guy and all but if Boogie is available you 100 percent go after him. 25 year old all star/all nba big man who's more likely to attract other free agents? Also I've been sold on Boogie as a star since he showed he could defend under Mike Malone but the King's for whatever dumb reason decided to fire him to put Ty freaking Corbin in charge. He pretty much is capable of everything skill wise. We'd have to outbid the Celtics nets picks though so it would be a heavy price.

Wrote a Heat off season review on the Trades & Transaction board. Give it a look if you have some time to kill which frankly most of you weirdos seem to have.

I agree with everything you said except your first line. No way we win more games with this roster. Its really hard to tell what we have when we haven't seen what these guys can do at a higher usage but hey you never know maybe someone emerges.

Also have to consider how many close games we were able to win cause of Wade and Deng, those guys were some of the best players in the 4th quarter this past season

We also dropped tons of games and first halves that didn't seem necessary and could barely score 100 points at all pre-ASB... As we were very underwhelming.

Everything to me will be about chemistry and fit, if they play well and how they want to from the jump

I don't hate Boogie, I actually wish him very well but he's one of the most overrated and coddled players in the league. Not going to give him credit for anything he hasn't done or provedn.

If McRoberts is traded, Who of the 3 unguarranteed would you guys want to keep on the roster? I know Mcgruder is probably the best of the 3 right now but for depth and development sake I feel that White and Jankovic are better choices.

I kinda wonder where we in the Durant sweepstakes's. The Warriors obviously won, and Okc was second with the Clippers at three.

The reports of the Warrior players recruits Durant all year long don't surprise me. This is a players league.

Most proven - Mcgruder
Most athletic - Okaro White
Most upside - Jankovic
Most uncle - Beno

In terms of roster balance, no doubt we need a big more then another SG

I keep hearing that the C's are trying to trade for Okafor. If that's the case then we won't have to worry about them.

Boogie might not make that much now but he will ask for the max when his contract is up. & that max will be higher then Whitesides .

Another thing those who do not like Pat & the HEAT franchise can easily find another franchise to like. Or follow their man crush player to another team.

Ive been a fan since 88, & every player i have liked has retired already & im still a fan of my HEAT franchise & always will be.

May Pat Riley live for ever.

Thank goodness you can dislike Pat Riley's moves and even Riley himself and still be a fan of the HEAT franchise. You'll find that many Heat fans outside of Realgm, which is basically a Riley fan site, do so every single day. Fortunately having a man crush on people in your team's front office is not a requirement of Heat fandom.

When Pat Riley retires, may you go on to support him in whatever retirement activities he chooses because he's certainly not going to be in the front office for much longer, let alone live for ever.

I dont know how old you are little lady, but for those of us that have been around since the 70s have seen the game evolve over the years, & Pat Riley has been the best thing that has happened to Miami sports since Don Shula.

Return to Miami Heat
