All reports have said Riley has been fair with Portland, and gave them a fair offer that makes sense for both teams, even if they don't like Herro, he's worth at least a FRP. Didn't try to fleece them off the go, which could have pissed them off to never trade him to us.

maybe it's just me, but I usually don't speak in the past tense in describing whether a player met expectations or was a bust for his career until the *2nd* summer league game is done.......I feel we know more then.

Okay boys heres the proposed mega trade that could possibly go down using all the previous deals that have happened to get this done.

Miami get - Damian Lillard, Nurkic and MIA 2025FRP back (Unlocking 24, 26 and 28 to send to POR)

BKN get - Tyler Herro

CLE get - Max Strus (7.3m TPE produced)

OKC get Oladipo, Miami 2030 FRP and 2 MIA 2nd rounders

DET get - Joe Harris (19.9mil TPE produced)

POR get - Duncan Robinson, Royce O'Neale, Nikola Jovic, 5FRPs (3 MIA, 2 BKN) 1FRP swap and 32.5mil in cap relief.

Miami have 3 2nd rounders they can float to DET, CLE and BKN to incentivise them to help get this done.

Lillard/Lowry/Vet Min or Bouye/Smith
JRich/Jaquez/Audige
Butler/Martin/Cain

We could do this without taking Nurkic and stay under the 2nd apron but it wouldn't really matter because Lowry would be coming off our books next season anyway. Also found out today that O. Robinson's salary is non guaranteed so if we took on Nurkic we could waive him and free up a spot.

Same, but I have a feeling our front line is going to be stacked after this trade is done. Especially if Wood is planning to sign here.

I legitimately think the trade will be pretty close to the 6 team trade I suggested. BKN using the money they made from the Detroit deal and sending out O'Neale for Herro would put them right under the tax line with the available tax room they have remaining.

If Miami do the deal and don't receive Nurkic back they would also be under the 2nd apron and if they swap Nurkic for Robinson they would be in the same position they were at the end of the season being over the 2nd apron but be able to get out of it in one year with our expiring contracts.

The hard part will be the negotiations of what picks we are getting from BKN and what we can do to get OKC to unlock picks that's why I think its taking a while.

Although I love Caleb, we may not be able to give him a new contract. It will ask for at least 15 million. Use him now. Jovic has 3 more seasons before his minimum contract expires.
