Petty or a no nonsense approach with him moving forward? We no longer owe him anything nor do we care to keep him happy and feeling important. He is a Sun in his mind and he is a nuisance in ours.

Hope 2 game road trip ends with Butler signing a fat new contract with the wonderful PHX org. I love Ishbia.

This is retaliation for the Suns shoes lol

No wonder they got waxed by Portland. Jimmy and the Heat just need to agree to keep him away from the team till a trade is found. Don't fine but he has to stay away.

Hope it goes well for him on suns but suns beware you are getting a cancer.

It should have been the policy from the start. But Heat made a mistake by enabling this behavior.

They set him up. They knew damn well he wasn’t getting on that team flight. Petty wars

I don't know, maybe they're being petty, maybe he just wanted to create more tension, maybe there was a wink wink agreement between both sides. What I do know is that it's very interesting that both times he's been suspended it's been right before a road trip and the number of games cover all the road games on the trip.

I wouldn't be surprised with the deadline getting closer, this would be a way to get away with Butler missing games without being injured to make sure he doesn't get injured in a game before he's moved. The worst case would be a bad knee injury that would force him to opt in next year and rehab half the season, you get no tax relief with that next season.

In the new CBA, I'm not sure that a team and player can agree for that player to get sent home if that player is defined as a star by the NBA.

BTW, seeing it phrased as "planning", maybe you don't go on the road trip if the trade is close and could happen during the road trip?

So, I'm guessing Heat are still going to pay Butler for these two games in "good faith" with the plan to finalize a trade? After the first suspension I thought maybe he comes back and finishes the year, but with the second suspension I think he's 100% gone.

I do not hope it goes well for him on the Suns lol. In fact, the complete opposite :D

There's an unlimited amount of saguaro out there for him to sit on.

It’s been over since the Pacers blowout. The trade really needs to hurry up and get done.

I still don't understand why people underestimate Riley and him knowing EXACTLY what he was doing when he called Butler out at the end of year press conference and then do something Miami rarely does... go to the press and say they're not trading Butler. Anyone who knows anything about Butler understands there will be a reaction from him for that. Riley has taken a fanbase that was nearly 50/50 on extending Butler vs trading him and has turned most of the fanbase on Butler and wanting Butler out. I tried telling you this summer that comment of shut your mouth was a calculated move by Riley and it's worked. I think it's a pretty bad and a cold thing to do but it's also brilliant.

Now Miami will have 1 season, maybe 1 1/2 seasons of development then a pivot in free agency or possibly pre-free agency next season.

Phoenix didn't acquire all those 1st rd picks recently for nothing. Jimmy is not suspended for 2 games for nothing. The deal is being worked out behind the scenes. It will be done in a few days

Jimmy went from being one of my all time favorite Heat players to being near the bottom of my list, at least for now.

I’m ready for him to be gone.

It’s a shame he and Terry weren’t suspended last night, we would’ve won.

MWP, C'Mon man.

Miami Heat are submitting their reasons for suspending Butler. The NBA and NBPA is watching this very closely. And guess what the NBPA thou threaten to file a complaint they never went through with it.

So Phoenix actually can send out Dunn as an additional asset. He’s one of the few rookies with some promise imo, his floor is a really good 3 and D role player

Given how this has all played out, this would be a pretty solid return for Butler. Portis is a great insurance policy if Bam misses extended time, he's an excellent 6th man, and a good mentor for Jovic. Middleton seems to be a class act and is just a really good, savvy basketball player. He can also facilitate the offense, which is better than Rozier doing it. Dunn in Miami's development system could lead to good things.

If this is actually the core of the trade, it'll be interesting to see if it gets expanded with Miami sending Rozier and/or Duncan Robinson also headed out. If Miami got Dunn, could we possibly see JJJ moved?

In honor of Buttler’s suspension, make sure to visit

WARTBURG,

Tennessee, home of the Morgan County Correctional Complex.

A fitting name, WARTBURG, for this absolute Buttwart we’re dealing with.

Why was it bad and cold? I think Pat really was fed up with Jimmy half-assing regular seasons, missing so many games, and all his trolling in general. Sure, he may have known how it would play out but that doesn't mean he wasn't genuine in what he said.
