Is Westbrook the worse MVP of all-time?

I’d say no. But I’d say that him, along with Iverson, are possibly the MVPs who are hardest to build a contender around. They both need a very specific support cast to be successful.
Whereas someone like James or Durant is much easier to build around and doesn’t require as specific pieces.

Westbrook is not even close to as good as Iverson. He is Ricky Davis on steroids. I would take peak Antoine Walker over Westbrookpuppa bear wrote:twix2500 wrote:Is Westbrook the worse MVP of all-time?

WHats probably crazy, Waiters was probably the best role playing fit next to Westbrook

Wasn’t saying he’s as good (he’s a far cry from AI), I was saying he’s not easy to build around. Have a look at their MVP season rosters:
[bold]Iverson[/bold] (56-26)
Snow/Ollie
Iverson/McKie
Lynch/Kukoc
Hill
Ratliff/Mutombo
[bold]Westbrook[/bold] (47-35)
Westbrook/Christon
Dipo/Abrines
Roberson/McDermott
Sabonis/Grant
Adams/Kanter
Iverson did more with his roster, but look at the construction of both of them - yuck. You couldn’t just swap in another All-Star and get the same results. That OKC roster has some players that have turned into nice players, but at that point Sabonis & Grant we’re still young & only Dipo was getting any volume of unassisted FGA.

Kukoc and Ratliff was traded for Motumbo
However I would say Westbrook team was built more like Derrick Rose Bulls, but should have been built more like Iverson and put him at the shooting guard. The team always seem to play more cohesive when Westbrook played with Olie or Fisher, and then even with Waiters.

The swing seemed maybe intentional. But I don't think he meant to elbow him in the face. Deserved ejection though. But Stewart just had to take it 100 there. He made several attempts to go after Bron.

Yeah the swing was definitely intentional....he looked back at him afterwards. Ejection was warranted, and he should be suspended for a couple games. Stewart needed to be sedated though lol.

Naaah. I'm not in the NBA too soft camp but that ain't suspension. We've seen people get elbowed in the face before even intentionally and its an in game ejection and that's it.

Hmmm.....hard to imagine Jokic getting a game for an intentional shove and LBJ not getting anything.
Oh wait.....it's LBJ. Silly me

LBJ does get preferential treatment but c'mon man. Elbows happen all the time and noone is getting games suspension. Jokic run over a dude with his back turned with momentum resulting in Morris missing 10+ games. They're not comparable. You can't go suspend him over this otherwise you gonna be suspending other folks for minor stuff.

I think you're being awfully kind if you consider what LBJ did "minor", if that's what your insinuating. Sure elbows happen all the time, but I think you'll be hard pressed to find many instances of intentional swings that catches folks up high without a suspension. We'll see what league office thinks.

No way Lebron will be suspended for a get off me swing in a tie up.
When I think suspension elbow, I'm thinking Arrest and Harden

He was face to face with LeBron. He got more animated the more distance there was between them.

Looking it again closely. That wasn't an elbow it was a closed fist. So yeah LBJ probably getting suspended. An elbow happens in normal basketball play. A closed fist doesn't, you can't let that fly
