I was actually a bit impressed with Tyler's attitude in his presser. Saying how he's matured mentally and focused more than ever on his body and diet and being a pro. And how he needs to get better fighting through contact. The biggest thing though is how he answered the starter/off the bench question. Last year he didn't seem to be so team first with that kind of attitude. He even said he was focused on his PPG last year now he doesn't care what he averages or about allstar selections. Hopefully he can be healthy and have an impact this year while finding a way to improve a bit defensively.

Tyler said all the right things. I'm optimistic on his play this season. Like he'll do his very own Klay Thompson impression after all. Hopefully him and Rozier get their two man game down

You are right, let’s pivot to the other broken record of Bam potentially finally shootings threes on the regular! This is how you know we are in desperate need of a splash trade!!! We continue to have the same pre-season hopes and prayers!
Maybe this is the year Tyler actually gets it together, and Bam shoots threes at a good clip with decent success! Imagine how much success our offense will have with those two finally coming to fruition this season! I can picture it now, the Bam and Herro duo creating havoc on offenses!

I think what he's pointing towards is a player changing their tendencies on offense which is very hard to do even if you want to do that. To go to someone who probes for his own shot which he's done for most of his life that not only got him to the NBA but made him rich to being mostly a spot-up shooter is quite the change. You can try to force yourself, but it won't feel natural, you won't be doing it feels right and from time to time your old tendencies will take over. The same goes for Bam and even Butler, the way they've played have made them NBA all-stars, both have been all-NBA players, both were the top 2 guys for a finals team so to change how they play, and their tendencies are just as difficult if not more so.
Can Herro push himself for a certain role, absolutely but I think you'll see him deviate from that from time to time that could cause issues, it'll probably take a good amount of time before his old tendencies change which will show up more often in pressure situations until he's changed his current tendencies (which sounds like what he's been working on).
Klay Thompson isn't who Herro should be emulating because they were never the same type of player (especially on defense), he should be emulating Ray Allen.

Wooo!!! Ahh yeah! I see your vision… Miami’s version of the splash bros! The Bam/Herro edition! Let’s get Herro to run the Ray Allen playbook, and Bam to run the post-Lebron Bosh playbook! I want volume threes from both of them, with frequent attacks to the rim when the defense over pursues the threes. Then, we have Butler and Terry attacking the rim like mad men, sucking in attention and breaking down the defense to create open looks and time for our splash bros to work themselves around the court with screens. All this while all the other guys specialize on disturbing the peace on defense and being effective slashers and floor spreaders, keeping the other sides defense moving and on their heels.
I say all this in a jokingly manner, but as I think about it, if Herro and Bam could really adapt more off the Allen and Bosh playbook and less of the splash bros playbook, that would actually be pretty darn good for our offense.

We should all be hoping he finds a way to take his game up another level instead of finding some reason to bash the guy.
On that same note - I hope Jimmy takes basketball serious this year, Bam brings the aggression offensively on a nightly basis, JJJ takes a leap, Jovic finds himself, and some other player surprises us. Idk the likelihood that all or any of this happens, but whatever makes the team better I'm all for it.

Butler having Jovic's youth basketball picture in his locker is so random and weird. But it's such a Jimmy troll thing to do and it's hilarious haha!
