2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 7 - It’s about to go down

I’ll give this team 3-5 games post ASB before I go full on tank. This offense sucks with Tyler too, he’s not some saving grace and has never been that at any point of his career but we need to see how this full unit looks together. At least now we have Wiggins and Mitchell in place of Jimmy who was dead weight this season. Let’s see how the full group looks together over the next 5-7 games.

If they’re ass at full strength I’m going full blown tank, try to get us 2 lottery picks between us and the Warriors either to use ourselves, to trade for a star, or maybe both. Bottom line, getting 2 lottery picks this summer at least gives us the most option in terms of team building. Could even trade both to move up, hell attach Jaime too.

Defense hasn’t been the issue, we’re 9th in the league. It’s the garbage offense sitting at 20th (probably worse after tonight) and it hasn’t matter who’s been available or not. Guess we’ll see how it goes at full strength.

We can win alot of game if we hold teams to 103 points, not if we can only put up 85 though. Even last game, 102 for the Nets but we can only put up 86 and that’s with Herro.

I feel like Spo is a great defensive coach, but has needed a high level offensive coordinator for some time.

I love those 110% guys....and we got one still...he just can't stay on the court in Dru. Hard to say 100% he is injury prone since that stupid floor would have taken out most people in that situation last season.

I think the last 2 years they penciled in Dru as a key back up, and him being hurt has jacked up those plans.


I will say Mitchell has something we have not seen a long while.....he was flat out beat by a guy driving to the basket..and some how recovered and got back in front of his man...he actually back peddled faster then the other dude drove to the basket...at least that is what it looked like in the half second or so that play took.

Mitchell could be a really really big deal on this team.

With the new defenders that were added, and actual size on the team...it will be interesting to see if they start to play more pressure defense. Seems like forever we cheat off the 3 point line and just leave a part of the defense to the mercy of probability. Maybe they have the guys stay in a shooters face and force more stuff to the basket now....

We're going nowhere fast.

The most important thing on a NBA team in this era is having a guy that can create offense. For himself and others. A player with a skill/size/athleticism/speed advantage that just is very hard for defenses to stop.

We have zero of that.

Once you have that offensive engine, all the role players and betas can live and thrive off him. Without him them mostly look helpless and overmatched.

Jimmy wasn't a great engine, but he's closer to anyone we have.

This season could end ugly, a bunch of limited players spinning their wheels.

Th scary thing is - i'm not sure next season will look much better.

Front office not getting in front of the Jimmy mess really put us in tough spot, insted of using Jimmy's trade to jump start the next era by acquiring a younger offensive engine, we end up with more role players.
