Yes, it's rough to watch Bam getting cooked by any half decent center, knowing he is up for 50m

I know, watching him lock up Embiid and Giannis in 4th quarters of playoff games/series to help lead us to huge wins makes me fuxking sick. Herro being out of the way really opened the team up to blossom for those runs

Locking up Embiid and Giannis in past series was cool, but I guess the real challenge this season is stopping himself from getting bullied by guys like Zubac and JJJr. At this rate, he might be locking up Cancun reservations instead

This team isn't a KD away from competing for anything. They are cooked and Bam will be too old by the time they can compete again, sell high while you can, at 50m his play won't look that good

Because the FO has shown they can’t get it done

Give them this offseason and draft. Things can change quickly

This offseason will be different. I think they really want to focus on the lottery and getting off of these bad contracts.

1 game sample sizes are always cool, Bam normally busts Jaren’s ass too. Hell Team USA gave Jaren the boot the second the Olympics came around so they could get Bam back and he flourished while Jaren looked like a bum the entire time

You should be more worried about your boy who’s due an extension and has never shown to be a winning player, got cooked in his matchup tonight with Bane

Are people watching the games? Its so clear that Bam is not looking for his shot. He is facilitating. Bam can easily get 20+ points and 10+ rebounds.

Also I would love to trade Bam VaDe, I’ve already said this. Send him to OKC and get our pick back plus several others. We’ll let Tyler command the tank if we don’t sell high on him this summer (hopefully we do) as he’s always been a losing player and Bam can be OKCs final piece and run the league for the next 5-7 years.

FWIW I also think Greg pointed out when Bam is making $50M it’ll be like 28% of the total cap, similar to what it is now

Right lol, every time we’re missing guys and Spo is forced to make Bam a primary scorer he always shows up.

Hell, he started cooking in the 3rd tonight and I guess Tyler got jealous and stopped giving him the ball when he was asking for it and wide open and started chucking terrible shots

im selling Bam and Herro.. without regrets. No team in nba history is going to win a championship with Herro as the first option.. at best in this league, he is a third option or sixth man for a contender.. if hes your number 1 or 2 guy, youre cooked as a franchise.

I sort of agree. I'm sure some people here will wear that Bam homer hat no matter what. This is likely his peak, and it’s unlikely things will improve. It’s disappointing that he and Herro can’t even lead the team to a 6th seed.

It’s honestly a cop out for the front office to completely blow it up and just ignore how terrible they were through this entire thing from when Jimmy first got here. I guess righting that ship left when Jimmy did though and we’ll continue moving along as if the guys at the top don’t suck at their jobs and our recent rosters didn’t overachieve despite them. In the end, this front office was the thing that held the team back from winning it all when we came close 3 times in a 4 year span but continued to come back with a worse roster each year.

I would sell high on Herro who is coming off a fluke all star run as his value is at its peak right now and you can’t win games with him playing a major role. Hes a selfish player, he’s not a winning player. That much is very clear throughout his career.

I’d turn and ship Bam out to OKC and get our pick back plus several other so we don’t have to worry about 2026 anymore and at least try to get something meaningful done before the 2028 unprotected pick goes to Charlotte. It’s doubtful as I don’t see anyone wanting to come play here without Jimmy and Bam and that just means the front office would have to pull off big trades to get someone and they’re not capable of that.

OKC isn’t trading all those picks and then paying Bam the max to be their fourth best player/glue guy. They’d much rather have the top 5 pick we will be sending them next year that is cost controlled for several years.

We are most likely stuck with him since the Heat see him as more valuable than what the trade offers will be.

If this is a full blown tank, it may have even more legs, I thought there was no way we catch anyone beyond maybe Bulls, Spurs and Portland, but Toronto has a sequence of:
Blazers - tank
Suns - trying to win
Warriors - trying to win
Spurs - tank
Wizards - tank
Nets - tank
Hornets - tank
76ers - tank
Bulls - trying to win, not that good.
Blazers - tank
Pistons - trying to win
Nets - tank
Hornets - tank
Mavericks - by 2nd last game of season, probably tank, also unlikely to have any healthy players.
Spurs - tank

It is hard to out tank this many teams, could be forced to win some.

Heat are playing maybe 9 teams looking to win, and those come sooner. Teams like Wizards, Pelicans and 76ers in our last 4 games may come at a time where their positions are locked in and no longer incentivised to tank, and they can go all out.

IF we are tanking properly, we could outdo Toronto with thst schedule.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Right the Heat are playing like it’s being led by Eddie Jones and Brian Grant instead of Stojakovic and Webber

If the Heat are serious about building around Herro and Grant the need to build their team like either Webber Kings or the old Duncan, Ginolbli, Leonard and Parker team. You gotta have a lot of good players and can’t be top heavy. Gotta look at those teams as a model

Some parallels...

Late 90s Heat contenders. Early 2020s Heat contenders. Tragic playoffs for both. Both ended on bad terms, Zos illness. Butlers tude. Mason 1 time allstar. Herro 1 time allstar. Grant and Bam both try hard bigs.

The aftermath of the first led to Wade. What does the aftermath of the 2nd lead to...?

We can do this. That top 4 is where we need to be.

Return to Miami Heat
