I thought you couldn't teach this dog any new tricks, but he's made a believer out of me. The future is bright for this kid.

I doubt bosh or whiteside will have to come off the bench next year. I think they'll go back to the line-up staggering that was super effective in the beginning of the year. Keep in mind, we started off the year like 12-5 or something and this is before half of the team played themselves into noticeable performace improvements. Our depth is a strength for sure. If Bosh can fit in with a fast - paced attack - which isnt a given cause hes mostly a half court elbow kinda dude - this team will be even better.

This team is not a traditional up tempo team. The strategy is to get it past the half court and into the offense with at least 20 seconds left on the shot clock. I think Bosh is very capable alongside Hassan to get past half court and into the offensive set quickly. I think both of them starting and getting into the offense faster will benefit both of them. Especially if Hassan grows as a passer. I hope he works on his reads and passing in the offseason. This team as is with a healthy Bosh

9th in MIP is a bit of a snub considering that he wasn't considered last season (I don't think he was) but it doesn't matter, the right person won

What was the reason we got for last year's award? That he had to play in an NBA team the previous year right? Now him having played a few months on our team and the potential he showed I guess are the reasons why he is not even close to being one of the contenders this award. Disappointing :(

Hopefully he gets onto the All NBA defensive team and maybe on one of the All NBA teams. Fingers crossed!

Actually a lot of contracts have kickers for these kinds of awards. In Hassan's case that is not an issue this year, but more of a recognition for how far he has come.

But as Spo says, hope he wins the Defensive Player, MIP, MVP et al of the playoffs :)

Giving him a bonus for winning future Defensive player of the year will be a good idea. I think it could both Help save a little cap space and Keep him engaged on defense despite expanding his offense.

But honestly, Watching Big Al go to work on Hassan is showing he still got ways to grow.

And then watching him come down the other end and dominate on O shows how far he has come in ONE year.

his ability to be that effective on offense in playoffs basketball is nothing short of amazing, he's just a bigger natural talent on that end then I could have hoped for, FT% improvement is just unprecedented.

He still has some big challenges ahead, we need to see him handle Jefferson better on the block, yea Big Al is a great post guy but Hassan needs to Watch how UD plays Al and take some notes. He can't give up position and then bite on fakes.

On offense, we're doing a better job finding him, Dragic-Whiteside connection just keeps improving, would be interesting to see him face big defensive guy like Bismack Biyombo if we get there, Jonas Valanciunas has been decent too, we need him to win those matchups if we were to advance.

HIF, love ya man. But you know certain posters will still point out everything negative about Ha$$an no matter what, they hate him. He's a STAR, and proving the doubters wrong again in these playoffs with his STELLAR play. Shut em up Ca$hside!

I'd say that Big Al is the best matchup Whiteside can ask for in terms of a teaching session. Whiteside will grow as a defender by learning how to stop someone as talented as Big Al in a 7 game series. Big Al will probably be the only person in the PS that will cause him this much trouble defensively.

That really depends upon what else they can do.

He has practiced against Bosh what better 3pt centers is he going to meet?

Andrew Bogut

Kevin Love/Channing Frye aren't going to hang with him on the other end and will picj up fouls trying to defend him.

I don't think there is a Center in the PS right now that has the quickness to pump-fake a 3 then move towards the basket while Whiteside is guarding them without getting swatted. If there is a Center that can stretch the floor like that, Whiteside most likely won't be guarding him.
