Playstation plus and Xbox live gold are services that we pay $50 a year for...if you want to play multiplayer games, chat with friends, other things, online, this is a requirement. They provide a couple of games for you to download as a benefit every month. Up until this month, it was pure trash, imo. It started off great, I got some great games to start off, but then I felt like I was being scammed so I stopped ps plus. But this is the first time they released a good game in a long time after a myriad of complaints. If they continue this, I'll resubscribe.

Note, you have the duration of the month to download the game, but once you do, it's yours for as long as you have an active ps plus subscription.

I was going to renew regardless since they're releasing a remastered version of call of duty 4:modern warfare. As bad as Infinity Warfare looks (next cod installment) they have the the guy that was the lead story writer in The Last Of Us (amazing game/story) while having 3 years of development. I'm curious to say the least.

Microsoft screwed up pre launch when that employee alleged that games couldn't be transferred (i.e resold) after being used by one system/account. Even though they did damage control (way later than they should have), the damage was done.

I love my PS4 though. First system I've owned since an N64, it's fun to blow off steam with.

They got cocky. The PS2 was the best selling consol of all time and when it came to the PS3 Sony thought that people would pay more for a more powerful product. What they didn't account for was the difficulty to find developers willing to take advantage of that extra power and the late release plus $600 start price that drove people away.

When the next gen came out Sony learned from their mistakes, they undercut Microsoft's price and released a more powerful yet easy to develop for consol before Microsoft could release theirs. Meanwhile Microsoft brought out next gen COD at their reveal and talked about exclusive map releases as if their fans who jumped ship from Sony in the first place would stay loyal.

Now they're dealing with what Sony dealt with last gen. Instead of developing games and optimizing them for both, most developers simply develop for the PS4 and then release a slightly downscaled version on the XB1.

That was the final nail in the coffin. I miss forza, but when Assetto Corsa comes out in august, my racing sim fix should be covered.

The system needing to be always on and connected to the net set the coffin on fire.
