Basketball doesn't work like that. Otherwise what's the point of playing 48 mins, why don't we have games be 2 min long.
In a close out game, you can't leave it to chance when you are at home. You want to go the 4th holding a comfortable lead. The role players played well enough if these 2 showed, we would have had a cushion going to the 4th. We didn't and had to play from behind and we are counting on everything going right for us.

You can’t blame the poor shooting when you’re up in the game with three seconds left. Tatum was terrible from three tonight and the Celtics won tonight. You’re judged by your last play in tight games. That’s coaching, that’s execution.

This is literally what separates pros from amateurs. Professionals are expected to perform and execute to the tightest of margins. This was a horrific gaff in the end by Spo and Strus.

But we still won. Without that rebounding the whole trajectory would have changed. Bam never came close to that impact.

You don't abandon the inbounder, they're the most dangerous player on the court.

No, you don't have to be an NBA athlete to know when someone isn't giving effort, he's not given much effort since he knew Miami was going up 3-0. Good lord, a lot of coaches weren't NBA players why are they coaching then?

It's usually pretty easy to see if Butler is giving effort or coasting for the game in the first quarter. I've watched him do this his whole career.

One positive for Miami - Butler did seem to get some of those butterflies (or whatever the hell) out at the end there. The Heat had the pressure of closing them out after being up. Now there shouldnt be any nerves.

Outrageous expectations on role players. Hell no they're not going to show up like they did tonight. Bam and Jimmy failed them all night. It's on those two to have a big game in Boston. Roleplayers perform at home. Very rarely do they perform on the road.

I mean, I honestly think the team will recover mentally but I’m just not sure we don’t get run out of the gym by hot shooting from the Celtics. They shot terribly and had a ton of turnovers today. We can obviously play better as well in some ways (Butler and Bam doing anything other than what they did tonight) but our role players played out of their minds for the most part tonight.
