Tbf, Vegas to Portland is like a 2hour flight. If the Heat brass needed to go there, they could. In todays day and age though I strongly doubt there’s a need to be in the same room to make a deal.

Anyway, it’s all bullchit until a deal happens. Whenever that is. Probably another month or so.

If Dame would consider the Nets, I would actually sooner just deal Dame to Brooklyn. I like their assets better. I also don’t hate the idea of Dame straight up for KAT to Minnesota, but Dame to the Wolves is definitely a nonstarter.

Another reason for the Blazers to wait, if the Heat aren’t starting the season with Dame, they could have a similar start to the year they did last season… which is roughly a .500 year. That improves their pick position for 2024 by only giving them Dame for half the season. So another reason for Portland to wait.

Let’s break this down…

Herro (=2FRP)
Jovic (=1FRP)
Jazquez (=1FRP)
Lowry (an expiring =1-2SRPs at deadline)
2-3(FRP)

You are asking for the equivalent of up to 7FRPs and up to 2 SRPs for…

Dame (on the way out of superstardom PG production, 33-36 y/o, sitting on one of the most expensive and cap killing contracts earning between $45mil and $63mil over the next few seasons)

Nurkic(= a negative asset or -1 FRP)

DusterBuster.. you sound nice and all… so I say this with all the respect… I think it’s time for you to go. It’s not you, it’s me…. I promise. It’s just that me thinks your crazy for expecting that return for old man Dame making crazy bank and the negative asset of Nurkic. Don’t get me wrong… Blazers will inevitably value their franchise player much higher than anyone else will. We do see value in bringing him on too… but that is far from it! While Dame is still a heck of a player… his contract is an albatross… paired with a sour plate of getting old.

Herro, Lowry, Caleb, and 2 FRPs ($63.5in out)
Dame and Nurkic ($62.5mil in)

That’s more of a fair deal…

You get about 4-5FRPs and 2-3 SRPs of value between what we have going out while taking in your negative contract of Nurkic.
