Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
They are talking up Wiggins quite a bit. I guess we'll see...
I'm excited to see how Davion has further developed his PG skills though. Herro being out should help him get even more comfortable with the responsibility of ball handling and trying to create.
Speaking of Herro, how much time is he actually supposed to miss? He had the surgery a couple weeks ago and they said there's 2 months of recovery. But recovery usually is followed by some rehab. Unless I'm misunderstanding and the 2 months includes rehab, why are some saying he'll be back in November?

Don't get your hopes up. Foot surgery can be tricky recovery. Those small bones cause more problems than large bonesShewasfly wrote:They are talking up Wiggins quite a bit. I guess we'll see...

I think mid to late december is more realistic for Herro’s return.
It’s not just rehab. He needs to get in shape and get back in rhythm. He isnt working out until he gets the full clear from the medical staff.

I like players who are telling big words.

Wiggins today talked about moving his family to Miami this summer and coming in working with the coaches everyday. A huge indicator

So 2 years 50 million for kuminga with team option on 2nd year. Gives the warriors great flexibility and makes his deal very valuable in any potential trade

If he moved his family to Miami, I'd say that's a pretty big indicator. His family (partner, kids) were tight with stephs family and drays family in the Bay. People forget that one of the reasons he chose Kansas was because his brother was at Wichita state.

Now that it's October, starting to get excited about the season. Hopefully a different vibe this year - bad juju be gone.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
Niko seems to be pretty vocal about his desire to start. Based on Spo's comments in the offseason and Tyler's injury, I'd say that's a decent likelihood.
PG - Mitchell / Rozier / Jakucinois / Smith (inj)
SG - Powell / Larsson / Herro (inj)
SF - Wiggins / Jaquez
PF - Jovic / Fontecchio / Johnson
C - Adebayo / Ware / Achiuwa / Goldin
My guess:
- Spo will give Rozier an opportunity to start the year as a rotation player, particularly with Herro out and Smith not ready. We need some offensive punch, which Terry can hypothetically provide when he isn't point shaving and/or drunk.
- Larsson and Jaquez will be battling for the 2/3 minutes. I hope both have improved their stationary 3 ball, Jaime in particular.
- Fontecchio to play stretch 4 alongside Ware if he's in the second unit, but I think we'll still see Bam, Ware and Niko eat most of the 4/5 minutes.
- I expect this will mostly be a red shirt year for Kasparas and he's going to get a lot of time in Sioux Falls. He's super young and needs seasoning and reps.

I mean...that just means that he's choosing Miami. Doesn't necessarily mean the Heat are choosing him. I still think if the Lakers make the right offer he's out of here.

I'd be shocked if Jovic started.
I think Jaquez is the odd man out with Larsson and Fontecchio getting minutes ahead of him, although I don't see Fontecchio getting minutes at the 4.

Golden St may be open to a Wiggins+Jaquez/Fontecchio for Kuminga swap depending on how they do.

That Kuminga trade would have been execellent with Tyler out. I like what Golden State is doing signing Horford and Seth Curry. If anything they are showing Stef they want him to have fun and a chance to go out good.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

I think there was a deal in place between Warriors and Heat and a third team. I think it fell apart because Kuminga and Heat could not agree contract wise. I suspect this is the range the Heat was ok with salary wise.

Yeah Jovic seems unlikely, especially when you factor how much the front office has been talking about playing Bam at PF. This give us a better opportunity to see how Bam and Ware play together to see if it works or not in what is basically a lost season. Then again this is Spo after all so some closing lineup with Bam at center and Wiggins at PF seems inevitable.
