Why do we need to compare everyone to Herro?

DeRozan is not a fit on this team, he operates in the mid range and is only effective when he can draw fouls, it's absolute anti chemistry with Jimmy on the court. What are they going to take turns trying to shoot 20+ FTs between the two each game?

Come man 35y old DeRozan is just non sense, at this point trading Jimmy and developing the young talent is the right move.

It's hilarious to me that ppl think 35y DeRozan is going to make this team competetive against the stacked Boston/NY/76ers team.

Sure, how dare I think the guy who came in 2nd in the clutch award last year would help Miami for a year or 2, I advocate using his last year as an expiring contract with another asset or 2 to acquire a new good player.

Why Herro, because of his contract being the 3rd highest paid player, how many shots he takes each night while being in the lower part of the roster for scoring efficiency.

Sure if you wanna go there, here is a direct comparison in a game that mattered.

Bulls vs Heat play-in game 2024:

Demar 8/16 22 pts, 4 asts, 3 rebs -20
Herro 8/17 24 pts, 9 asts, 10 rebs +32

I take Herro over DeRozan any day, 35y old on his last legs, vs 24y old who is going to keep improving.

This fan base is desperate for some new toys no matter the price or long term implications and keeps making Herro the scapegoat for everything, it's just funny to me to read all these biased takes.

Talk about biased takes and cherry picking, you picked out one game, here's Herro in the playoffs going into his 6th season. In 46 playoff games he averages 14.3 pts in 30.1 minutes a game while being absolutely horrible on the defensive end and getting paid on average 30 mil for that contribution. In those 46 playoff games he's scored 20 or more 7 times, and he's paid to be a scorer.

How about the previous year's play-in game?

Herro 5/12 12 pts, 7 ast, 8 reb

And interesting enough DeMar just averaged 24 points while taking 17.2 shots a game, compared to 3pt shooter Herro scoring 20.8 points a game while taking more shots at 17.5 shots a game.

I'm just not a fan of a non-defensive player who isn't an efficient scorer nor happy seeing that amount of money going to that type of player.
