While he is a big time defensive force, he is rather limited offensively at times and it does bog down our offense considerably. Have to remember that Bam is undersized (6’9) whereas Yurt is a legit 7 footer and naturally a better rebounder as well. Ultimately, you have to love what both guys bring to the table, but it’s always going to be one or the other and never both. Just not going to happen in Spo’s system
Well, I'm not on the fence about Bam coming back.MH was playing great with Bam.
Yurt played awesomely and if we need Yurt, he will be called to bench away.
On the fence was probably the wrong phrase to use. Obviously I’m glad Bam’s returning but it just sucks to know Yurt will be marginalized with likely much less playing time

I think we should give PJ some rest with Lowry to see how well Bam would integrate with Yurt in lineups. As someone said: Yurt is too good to be buried on the bench.

I doubt the pacers want anything to do with Duncan and his contract. We would need other players to match up the salary or find someone else to take Duncan in a 3 way trade.

I would trade Duncan, Dedmon and 1st for Turner. I think that’s fair.
PACERS
Brogdon / McConnell / Sykes
Duarte / Lamb
Duncan / Holiday
Warren / Craig / Brissett
Sabonis / Dedmon
HEAT
Lowry / Oladipo / Vincent
Strus / Herro
Butler / Martin
Bam / Tucker / Okpala
Turner / Yurt
They’re asking for 2 so idk if that gets it done

PJ just got a lot of rest. Lol I know what you mean but dang.rate_ wrote:I think we should give PJ some rest with Lowry to see how well Bam would integrate with Yurt in lineups. As someone said: Yurt is too good to be buried on the bench.
The Heat need to start preparing for the playoffs instead of development. It was a good opportunity in November and December to do so especially with all the injuries and all the bad teams that they played. Strus, Yurt etc are not gonna carry this team to the finals. They can help but the Heat needs to get their core players settled in the system settled in for the playoffs.

I think the season is still far removed enough from the playoffs to still experiment and tinker with lineups and units to find cohesion and what would work. I'd say right after all star break is when it would be necessarily to set playoff rotation, which Spo normally does. And no one is relying on Strus or Yurt to "carry" this team in the Finals, but they can perhaps play a key role in helping our core players (Jimmy/Bam) make a deep playoff run. Both have been really good in their roles that they should be seeing consistent minutes.

Go and get Turner right neeeooowww
We have to go all in. Dedmond, Duncan, Vincent, and KZ should all be on the table.
I could see us giving up a pick in a combination of Duncan + any of the above (hopefully Dedmond or KZ) and a first, and finding another team to throw in another one to get it done.

It's going to be interesting to see how Spoelstra divides the minutes once everyone gets healthy.
I look at our roster and see the following players as rotation players:
Butler
Bam
Lowry
Herro
PJ
Strus
Yurtseven
Duncan
Dedmon
Morris
Oladipo
That's 11 guys to divide 240 minutes a game between. That depth is amazing when health issues pop up, but when everyone is ready to go, it's a problem.

Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread 21-22 Vol. 1
This is how I would rank them when everybody is healthy if not much changes:
9 man rotation
1. Butler
2. Bam
3. Lowry
4. Herro
5. Oladipo
6. Strus
7. Martin
8. Tucker
9. Yurtseven
10. Dedmon
11. Duncan
12. Vincent
Morris / Okpala / Guy / Haslem
Maybe something like:
Lowry / Oladipo / (Vincent)
Strus / Herro
Butler / Martin / (Duncan)
Tucker
Bam / Yurt / (Dedmon)
9 man rotation
1. Butler
2. Bam
3. Lowry
4. Herro
5. Oladipo
6. Strus
7. Martin
8. Tucker
9. Yurtseven
10. Dedmon
11. Duncan
12. Vincent
Morris / Okpala / Guy / Haslem
Maybe something like:
Lowry / Oladipo / (Vincent)
Strus / Herro
Butler / Martin / (Duncan)
Tucker
Bam / Yurt / (Dedmon)

Interesting. We tried to get him from the Rockets, I wonder if we would now
Well assuming he has interest to play here it would have to be a sign and trade. Butler would be off limits so Bam would be the logical player to move. Again thats assuming he wants to play here, if he wants the 76er they will be very dangerous and Simmons would look great with KD and Kyrie.

spo has changed the lineup like 3 times in this quarter alone that's not good for continuity

Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread 21-22 Vol. 1
Spo having seen now multiple lineups without jimmy and Bam. Hopefully sees the glaring issue with our offense being limited when those 2 are playing together. I would think moving forward he will stagger them both as much as possible. While they remain starters he pulls either jimmy or Bam early and brings one in back quickly after the other sits. However we need to figure out the closing issues. Because during a close game its ok aslong as their both playing superstar defense and were keeping the other team at bay. But of we need to score unless jimmys having one of those superman games we can't have them both outthere.
