Ya, how ironic is it that South Florida....a youth football hotbed....can't produce a successful **** college or pro team in over 20 years.

Yet, somehow HOCKEY is thriving here.

There's no irony at all. After UM's coach Howard Schnellenburger first tapped the well, them, UF, and FSU had the Florida recruiting hot bed all to themselves in the 80's and 90's. Then around 2000, the rest of the country decided that they wanted in on it. Since then, alot of players that would've gone to UM, FSU, or UF went out of state. I'm a UM fan since the late 80's, so I know what I'm talking about.

The Heat also hacked the system by taking full advantage of being in the weakest division in the league and in the weaker conference. No way do they go to 7 finals in 16 years out of the West.

Front office stans, defend this decision in a way that makes it make sense to us who are critical of just how much this front office has fallen off a cliff.

I don't think there's any FO stans left imo Pretty much everyone on this board wants Pat to retire

There's is just disagreement on whether they should have traded KD or not

For us anti-KD trade, I think FO had a similar view. Its not so much about KD but the rest of the team. The team is so bad, that you needed a prime KD to make them anywhere close to contenders. And this isn't a prime KD, so why put a ton of assets for a move thats unlikely to work

I think they made the right decision here. KD needs to be a situation like Houston where the team is close. Miami isn't close

What are you talking about? Everybody in the East over .400 is close. If the Heat were in the West, you'd definitely be right.

I’m a Canes fan too. Their problems run much deeper than what you mentioned. There is still more than enough talent for UM to assemble a team that could win the **** ACC at least once. Between the Canes and Dolphins…you are looking at over 20 years of a shared disaster.

To make things even whackier, South Florida is now home to the best ice hockey team in the world lol
