I was hoping we would turn into the 2011 Mavericks, one superstar surrounded by a team that turned hot at the right time... unfortunately Game 5, all our guys turned ice cold.[/quote]

This series Gabe is scoring 11 ppg shooting 31% from the field which includes 28% from 3pt range on 7+ 3s a game. The problem is his decision when to take shots. He takes some ridiculous shots with a lot of time left on the shot clock.

Plenty of good seats still available to watch Scott Foster blow into his whistle.

You win some, you lose some. NY has barely scraped by in their wins. With the god awful shooting, poor rebounding and FT disparity, we still almost beat them. Tonights the night. Knicks going down.

To be fair, we took out the Bucks due to some of his shots. We would have lost that one game if not for Gabe taking a contested 3 pointer when we were down 4, and making it

True, but who knows if some other journeyman combo guard could have done as good or better. I'm fine retaining him at a low price but my god, Miami let Nunn walk and sign a 10 mil 2-year contract who might have been a better player for Miami. I think he's easily replaceable.

Not disagreeing with your overall point that Vincent is replaceable, I think he is and Miami should be careful to only retain him at the right price and not overpay... but, the Nunn comparison isn't it. Vincent is a much better overall player.

I don't know, he averaged almost 15 ppg at nearly 60% TS%, ORTG 111, DRTG 113, a -2 and that wasn't worth 5 mil a year?
Gabe.... just under 10 ppg, .533 TS% with an ORTG of 104 and DRTG of 115, a -11 overall. Gabe is the better defender, the league as a whole is scoring around 3 more points per game since Nunn was in Miami.

It's blowing my mind how hard national podcasts are trying to not talk about the Heat series. If the Knicks were up 3-2 there would be as much content about the series as there is about the Lakers or Boston.
Today's podcast notes on the Hoop Collective (Brian Windhorst) the very last line is... if the Knicks can bring it to game 7... NO mention of Miami at all. I've never seen/heard a team about to make the conference finals get nearly 0 press. Miami may make the final 4 for the 3rd time in 4 years.

The only time Miami got any press was when Lebron was here and all his cronies suddenly had a massive interest in the team. Even then they still disrespected us saying things like Miami isn’t a basketball town and doesn’t deserve Lebron and yada yada. You have to accept as a fan of this team that the media has zero rooting interest in anything a Miami or south Florida

Gabe is not a legit starter for a team with championship aspirations. He doesn't do a single thing well. Pesky defender sure, but he's undersized and commits too many fouls. He's a career 33.9% 3pt shooter. That's not good. Shooting 33.4% this year. He's not a playmaker, plays more like a combo guard but isn't great at either really. He's very replaceable. Paying him the MLE or giving him some 3-30M deal would be a big mistake.

Add to the fact that every national broadcast sounds like a NY local broadcast
