I know this may seem small but Dru Smith is trade eligible on Jan 21st and it seems inevitable they ask a team with space to absorb his 1.8. We are essentially down two roster spots with him being out for the year. He’s getting attached with Lowry

Of course it has value but we also can’t absorb 30 million worth of long term money either. We are 14.5 million over the tax which gives us 16 million worth of wiggle room to absorb in trade. We can start getting a little creative after that but most likely can’t resign Martin and only minimums unless Duncan gets dealt. Especially with Murray’s salary increasing next year.

These 3 salaries give us 11.1 million of wiggle. 6 million of this would have to account for Murray’s increase next year. Would give us 5 million to fill out roster with minimums. Can’t get a real 4 upgrade or keep one unless Duncan and his 19.4 is allocated to that. My opinion is we need to start looking at value shooters. I don’t care what anyone says. Duncan is making way too much on this cap. Especially when we already have Herro making 27 mil.

I told myself after that horrible summer I’d never get my hopes up with washed Pat Riley again. Hadn’t mentioned anything all season but now im foolishly going full blown these last 3 weeks before the deadline.
