I'm pretty sure you can only get a max of 2 years of a 2-way contract for a single team although he can still get a 2-way contract from another team until he's in his 4th year of the NBA, he's currently in year 3 (2-way contacts count as 1 year for the NBA). I believe Miami had to sign him to a regular NBA contract to keep him.

Wow, but Jimmy wants 4/$240M

Brunson took the max; he could have waited a year to get a lot more but didn't want to risk a major injury with him about to turn 28. If he were to lose some of his quickness he's done as a high level player.

Think of it this way, if he were to tear his ACL in his age 28 season, he's done till 29, probably will take another season to get back to where he should be, now he's age 30 as a small guard, I'm not sure you give a guy like that big money. Kinda like the Isiah Thomas situation with Boston although he's way smaller than Brunson.

Nothing but respect for him. He is living his dream, he is in NY, he is the face of the franchise, he is making a fortune off the court in endorsements. Most importantly he will make back a good chunk of that money when he opts out. No way he does this if he doesn't trust the front office. This is like UD taking a pay cut on steroids.

This is pretty surprising. Shocking. NY might win it all with a guy like that on board.

Guy kinda plays like UD did way back in the day

Not really high on his mobility, and he has a low ceiling, but he could be a grindy glue guy given the opportunity. I could see him becoming a valuable piece of the roster.

Seems like a good teammate who can hit open jumpers, hustle, rebound, and defend. Got to work like UD to stick, would be cool to see that torch passed.

I don't know what to make of his mobility yet. Haslem an interesting comp. Think he'll move better once he gets the system down. I also he's got some chase down blocks in his future.

Serbian doctors just call everything minor lol. Nikola Topic minor knee sprain aka Torn ACL. The way this his headed I wouldn't be shocked if Jovic is dealing with a fractured ankle.

Didn’t he injure it while with the Heat, just after the season ended? I remember Ira reporting it as a minor ankle tweak or something, and then he shows up in a walking boot!

I guess sports docs (and reporters) are all the same everywhere!

Dude you scared the poop right out of me, I'm pretty sure it was getting pushed out by my heart sinking lol. "Fractured ankle" was the first two words my eyes laid on and thought it was a confirmed report XD

I can’t read serb but poster above says the Euro report mentions fractured ankle.

Omg I guess I was in denial didn't someone just the bother day say they expected a report to soon come out saying he had a fractured ankle? (They were kidding, not reporting). Who ever it was jinxed us. Can't catch a break. At this point I would pull Jaquez from what ever he's doing just in case.
