Sports has a clear gambling problem, not just the NBA. They went to bed with sportsbooks for sponsorships. Im afraid the worst has yet to come with gambling and athletes.

Read from some local news station in Boston that two former Celtics players were also arrested. Im assuming since not named they're small time type dudes that had short careers.
They mean Rozier and Billups who both played for Boston.

Terry should have just taken his buyout but this was always going to be the best case scenario for the books this year. Feds are going to bail out Micky and give the team some much needed roster flexibility this year under the tax.

Possibly getting this pick back from Charlotte depending on what the FBI uncovers
We used to pray for times like this
On a side note the NBA has a HUGE problem and Silver needs to be fired let me get into some of the issues.
1. The viewing format for the NBA is insane, and is going to kill interest in the game. I had to go find a BS stream last night to watch the Heat and Magic play despite it being a local game, and me having NBA league pass. This happens 4 times a year and it is absurd. I have to decipher the damn Divinici code to watch all 82 games which is something I have done for YEARS, and now with more technology the game is not as accessible as it once was.
2. The game has a clear gambling problem and this I think goes far deeper than just a few guys, and it is pretty clear the NBA covered it up. as they investigated and cleared Rozier several times only for the FBI to step in and expose them as frauds. So we have players fixing games, and the NBA being complicit in hiding it, this is not a good look.
3. The Clippers have been caught RED HANDED cheating, and once again they were caught on something the NBA "allegedly" investigated, only to be exposed again by an outside party.
What the commissioner and the league office is supposed to do is grow the game, protect its integrity, and create and environment of fair play. They are massively failing on all fronts. I miss David Stern at least while you knew he was kinda suspect on somethings at least he had a backbone. The NBA needs somebody who cares about the league and basketball in charge. Get Larry Bird in there or something to clean it up.
It seems like all out of market games will not be on league pass due to so many networks/streaming services having the rights to NBA games? I can't even keep track of what you need.
I've gotten league pass in prior years and may end up getting it again, but I might also just be content to watch what's available on what I got. Although according to this if you've got ESPN/ABC, NBC, and Prime you'll get all national games?

I only watched second half. I thought Powell, Mitchell, and Jacquez played well. Jovic was bad. Ware didn't get to play. And Bam was Bam. If you switched 2008 Wade with either Herro or Wiggins this team would be pretty good.
Most of us have realistic expectations this year.

Arrest does not mean conviction. No way the NBA voids the contract without a conviction and after the appeals process are done, that will take years.

I think Miami between this situation and how the league office disproportionately treated the Lillard situation has grounds to sue the league

Keep an eye on the Cavs who have an absurd 163 mil tax bill. If they happen to slip a bit I could see them looking to dump Strus with a draft pick so we could absorb that salary. This is exactly the type of deal we should be looking to make happen. Build up the draft pick cupboard.

I agree. There has to be some sort of clause in the contract that says if you are arrested by the FBI, the money from your contract will be placed in an escrow fund pending an investigation by a third party into whether the contract has grounds for termination. Civil malfeasance is way easier to prove than criminal.

I woke up from a nap to Rozier being arrested and Chauncy having ties to the mafia. Sure. Okay.

Not likely. Like Flash4theWin said, there's no grounds for the NBA to void his contract at this point.

I believe Jontay Porter was banned even before he was officially charged.

I don’t think Miami gets their pick back. It was a bad trade, period. Miami would have to prove that Charlotte intentionally screwed the Heat. That ship has sailed.
