You are all so fickle. If you were true Heet fans you would never quit on your team or its players with still so many games to play. Don't you know this team won the chip just over a year ago? Don't you know this team has two true superstars? Besides, "when" we make the playoffs Zo will be back and we are gonna be reel scary.

Book it.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but common, this is great news. I'm a true Heat fan and have not and will not miss a single game this season but that doesn't mean I can't accept the reality that this season is over. There is no reason to try to for a short term fix anymore .. we've done enough of that and look where we are. It's time to be smart and build for the future.

Sorry if you were joking and I typed up a serious response for no reason. ;o

If only the game was about having players who can hit wide open threes.

Zo never hit many 3's but I'd say we miss players like him quite a lot too!!!
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Can we trade the Heat's lotto pick for say the Dallas Cowboys two first round picks? Then we can trade those picks for Jason Taylor. He can play SF for the Heat and the Fins can rebuild faster :)

Cowboys can deal that pick + Romo to the Mavs for Dirk. It passes the trade checker, 1 rd pick + young playoff choker for mvp playoff choker.

I'm quite sure you as fans wouldn't do this. Putting myself in your shoes, I know the answer already and I wouldn't do it myself. My question is, do you think Riley is telling the truth with the quotes at the start of this thread?

What do you think if he got an offer for your pick for Ben Gordon or Kirk Hinrich? Riles hasn't been known to be a patient man and these guys are still young. Obviously, Gordon needs to be paid soon. Kirk is on a reasonable, frontloaded contract.

Not looking for what you'd do...looking for what you think Riley would do. Do you think he'd be tempted? Thanks all.

EDIT: Sincerely, the other half of the Eastern Conference's most disappointing duo.

Interesting. I thought that Gordon might be interesting to Riley considering the playoff series he's had vs. you guys and still being quite young.

I'd be thinking the same way that (I believe) you guys are: let this season go, give Shaq/D Wade all the time they need to heal. Get that young stud in Rose, Beasley, etc. to pair with Wade going forward. The reason I asked this is because I just wonder if Riley has the patience to do this...the guy's a winner, he's an ultimate competitor like him or not.

not going to trade a top 10 pick for Gordon or Kirk...
Riley is going to kick himself upstairs and let his protege Spoelstra handle the rebuilding

Thanks for the feedback, I'll let that pipedream go.

From an "enemy" POV, I think the Heat will bounce back quickly next year with your pick, health and a few defensive role players/shooters....it could be quite dramatic. You have the most important thing of all in Wade. To me "superstar" is WAY overused and he is one of the only true ones there is (him, Lebron, Duncan and Kobe imo).

Kirk is an interesting option, but i would prefer to take our chances in the Lotto. Lower risk, cheaper option. This franchise right now is al about saving $, so i really doubt Riley will do any of those deals.

BFO doesn't know the meaning of sarcasm. It is great to see a few serious posters around here for a change.

Even if Miami found a way to dump Smush Parker (which is highly unlikely) and chose to let Dorell Wright walk, they'd still have to account for 6 minimum-salary vets which would cost $3M, giving then a payroll of $52.5M and no effective cap room."

So the way for us to get some capspace would require a trade in which we could ship U. Haslem + Blount for expiring contracts. (IMO the only package some other team would consider to take on Blount, besides our 1st rd pick) Then deal Parker + Cash and a 2009 2nd rd pick in exchange for some role player or expiring. This way we could end up under the cap, at around 39-40 M $, giving us some 20 million to spend on FA's.

I would love to see us grab a E. Brand guy (Very Good PF next to Shaq) but Sterlings recent comments make it unlikely that Brand would opt out.

Other top FA's imo: Arenas, Artest, Josh Smith ? (propably ATL matches), other interesting FA's we should give a try at decent salary: Okafor, Calderon (TOR matches), Maggette (if opts out). The rest of the FA's don't look worth more than a MLE imo.

Wow, did it really take 8-33 to accept this? Anyways, I think the Heat will get lucky in the draft and pair Wade up with a good young player. So this season will end up being a blessing in disguise for Heat fans.

honestly do u really think the heat will make the playoffs this season say the 8th seed is prob gunna be at .500 give or take a few games that would mean the heat have to double their win total which is 8 to 16 then they would have to double that to get to 32 then they would still be 1 game below .500 and thats if they dont lose a game on that 24 game win streak and zo wont be back this year

wut they should do is wut i said watch wades and shaqs minutes all year and with no playoffs they be fully rested for next year with no injuries and with a top 5 draft pick and a few offseason moves and if zo comes back theirs no reason why they cant be elite again
