This makes it sound like he has an STD.

Beasley does make me nervous. And if I was a fan of some other teams that have had past disciplinary issues, I'd be uncomfortable with going with a player like Beasley. But with Riley, and hopefully Alonzo around, character issues should not be a problem.

For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

This is great news.
Yea I'm not sure why people think Beasley might be too small to play PF. It might be due to the fact that Beasley's head seems to be slightly proportionately larger than his body, which might give him an appearance of being a little smaller than he is. Either way he's plenty big enough. Measured in at 6'9" with a 9'1" standing reach last year as you said. Here are some other notables from recent years:
Michael Beasley 6'9"/6'10", 9'1" standing reach
Kevin Durant 6'10", 9'2" standing reach (we all know how lanky he is)
Al Horford 6'10", 8'11" standing reach
Lamarcus Aldridge 6'11", 9'2" standing reach
Al Jefferson 6"10", 9'2" standing reach
Emeka Okafor 6"10", 9'2" standing reach
Chris Bosh 6'11", 9'1" standing reach
Amare Stoudemire 6'10", 9'0" standing reach
He will probably be between 6'9" and 6'10" in shoes along with his reach, puts him in similar size to the above players. We can't lose either way... Rose is as good a PG prospect as we've seen in years and also fills a huge need. Beasley is a dominating power foward and we've never had a guy in the post on offense that's capable of doing what he can do. I'm just so thankful we got a top 2 pick.

I don't doubt that Beasley is going to score in this league. He kid plays hard but I am just not sure how much patience Riley is going to have with a kid that seems to be immature. Remember Dorrell Wright? I also have some concerns with his defensive disposition, something Miami wants to go back to.

Lefty, reasonable handles/outside shot. Beasley seems to be more offensively minded though?
Yeah, definitely in terms of handles for his size.
But Beasley's mid-range touch, deft use of the jump-stop, physicality on drives and posts, and ferociousness on the boards put him light years ahead of Odom at that age.
I think Odom got around 17/9 as a freshman at Rhode Island, but was a better distributor than Beasley. In fact, I don't see Beasley ever becoming an Odom-like distributor ... that's something you either have or don't have.

Yeah, I don't see Wright as someone who would bully his way to McDonalds Game MVP, or put up a ferocious 26pts/12reb as a freshman, or put a team on his back and guarantee victory against the eventual NCAA champs.
Some dudes have tough bodies and tough minds, some don't.
Wright has nice quicks, hops, and length ... but not a tough body and tough mind.

I was comparing Riley's struggles with Wright's immaturity to what he MIGHT have to face if we draft Beasley. Let's be honest, he is not a patient guy although Beasley's talent is just too much to pass on. He might even add a "baby sitter" coach to the staff just to be on these kids asses.

Zo is a "clone" of Pat Riley when it comes to personality. I am not sure he has the patience to "babysit" although I could see him becoming a good coach sometime in the future.
I was thinking someone who can relate to these kids "off the court" mostly. Spoelstra was that guy before. Maybe a PJ Brown? Keith Askins?

Good point certainly. But a few things I'd mention ...
- Beasley, as the #2 pick, would automatically be the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team. So no way he rides the pine as the 12th man like Dorell. He'll play big minutes
- Season ticket holders will pay to see Beasley (or Rose of course). He'll probably be marketed in print ads and what not, being high profile as the #2 pick. So no way he's the 12th man. He'll play big minutes
- Dorell stumbled onto a team that had a 3-year window to win a title with aging vets, so expectations were high and missteps by a clumsy teenager could not be tolerated. We are in a different atmosphere now. Beasley will be looked at as someone who must help carry us, not someone who hinders us
- Spoelstra's the coach now, not Riley

I really dont get all this talk about Michael Beasley being a problem for Pat Riley and the Heat. The guy just likes to have some fun and is still a pretty young man, so his actions may seem immature to some people but the reality is, that is what happens when your a young.
Beasley is the real deal and I actually want him more than Derrick Rose (even though I love Rose) because I feel a 1-2 punch of Wade and Beasley will be very tough to stop.
I think Michael Beasley is a better prospect coming out of college than Kevin Durant was last year.
