The 06 team had Shaq demanding double teams in the post giving us 20 and 9 with almost 2 blocks a game at 60% field goal and we had a healthy Zo backing him up.......
We dominated the post with Shaq that year and had and elite inside outside punch.
With Rose and Wade under the current roster we would have just an elite backcourt with Zero post presence and no 3pt shooter other than cook to give our guards any spacing and no bench. There is no way you can remotely compare those teams

Who's comparing them talent-wise? I'm simply saying that this proposed team would be just as strong of a rebounding team as the '06 squad, nothing more.
In terms of rebounding:
PG- Rose >> Williams
SG- Wade = Wade (If healthy)
SF- Marion >>>> Walker
PF- Haslem = Haslem
C- FA Center << O'Neal

?? 50 wins not necessarily a good thing?CB4MiamiHeat wrote:If everything goes really good..it could be like the Warriors...
Monta and Baron is one of the best backcourt in the league, they get a lot of fastbreak points too and are efficient(Rose/Wade)...they have Jackson, good defensively and can get 15-18points (Marion), They have Harrington who imo is an average Power Forward (Haslem) .. They have Biedrins and a good bench...we could get a bench with a MLE .we could get a double double center like Biedrins in the future.
Yeah, we could be a 50 win team and an exciting team like the Warriors... i dont know if thats necessarily a good thing though.
Wade is by far the best player on either two teams, and no players on either teams have shown the ability to take over and completely dominate in both regular season and post season like Wade.

11 teams won over 50 games this season...wed be a borderline top 10 team..we would be average rebounding and we would rely on Wade and Rose..we would probably be in the same positions as the Warriors needing a low post scorer..yea Brand, Bosh etc.are available..but you know how many teams are gonna be in the running? Maybe Chicago when they make trades, Clippers, Sixers, etc...

If we don't use the MLE this year we could have around 15 million in cap space next year for Brand or Boozer. Brand obviously is willing to sign here and I think Boozer could be persuaded too, thats a pretty good team.

I think Boozer might be more attainable than Brand -- Boozer already lives down here link, his kid has an illness that is treated by Miami Children's Hospital. As we saw from that Herald story, he likes to party on South Beach, not too many bars in Salt Lake....

Perhaps. But reasons for Brand...
1) He already signed here once
2) I doubt the Clippers offer him anywhere near the max (which would be roughly 130 million for 6 years)
3) I think Brand fits the mold of a post player more than Boozer+he can block some shots. Which makes him more attractive to us.

If Rose falls to us you take him in a second
. No one here is advocating not to take him. The question is how would Rose and Wade play together and since so many unknown factors come into play its complicated. Then there is the question of what to do with the remaining players. Beasley would also pose questions about his size and speed but would also facilitate the rebuilding process by forcing Pat to move UD and or Marion to give him the mins he needs at pf.

In Basketball, you want a team that is balanced because it makes it harder for the defense to play you. That is why the Celtics are tough because they have an inside guy who can score and play defense, an outside shooter, and an in between guy who can drive to the basket while also able to shoot from the out side. that is what every coach looks for.
As for the Heat, Wade's strength is attacking the basket. The best compliment to him in a PG is someone who can run a team very well while also being a strong outside shooter. If he can also be a very good defensive player to cover the best guard on the other team, even better as it given Wade the chance to focus more on offense. With this in mind, based on the talent/skill sets that the players have TODAY, Rose is not a strong outside shooter, ok defensively, although he is a great floor general and has a chance to improve. Mayo is the much better shooter and defender, although no where near as the PG Rose is. If the choice is between them two, the Heat's decision will come down to if they think that Rose will develop a strong jump shot to open things up for wade vs if Mayo can develop into a good PG as his game is better suited to play off Wade.
As for Beasley's fit with the Heat, I think he fits the best. He has an outside/inside game which will open the floor for Wade. If it was my choice, unless the Heat knows something in their background checks that we dont know, Beasley is the right pick for us. It also give us the most ammunition for trades as we can then look to move Haslem and Marion to get back the pieces that we are missing, such as a PG. Best case scenario, Heat picks Beasley with the second pick, and then makes a trade to get another pick in the lotery to draft OJ Mayo. If the Heat can get this done, we are set for a long run (specially if Wright finally steps up to be the player we all believe he can be).
Well, there you have it....

It would work great because Rose is basically an athletic Williams or a taller Chris Paul. He is kind of like A Jason Kidd who can score 20 a game easy. Now if he dominates the ball then Wade can score easily and play off the ball and do less and conserve energy. It would be much better for him to play off the ball.
Same thing with Kobe. Kobe dominates the ball but when Fisher or Odom bring up the ball it is a very good thing for Kobe which is why I can't wait for Farmar a real pg to take over in a year or 2.
