Does anyone here wish we could of grabbed Deandre Jordan as well? I know the guy is a raw talent, but he has an enormous upside and was worth a 2nd round pick.
Ira suggested we move Marion for our solution at center, but I think we should just look for a replacement SF and a solid veteran PG for him.
As for Haslem, I just don't see any future this guy could have with the team. He was an excellent sidekick in the front court next to Shaq, but he's not a very versatile talent and he's not going to be in the long term plans of this team.
With that said though, we should be in no rush to move either of these talents and we're not from what I can see in Riley and Spoelstra's interviews. They are even suggesting small ball lineups with Beasley at center, which will not win us a championship, but is a strong signal to other teams that we are not desperate to move anyone.
Marion and Haslem may be gone tomorrow, but in all likelihood the Heat are going to wait until teams get desperate. The Jazz could be in the thick of the championship race for example and then see Kirilenko fall to a season ending injury and look to move Boozer for Marion and Haslem in sort of a 2 for 1 deal and the same type of deal or better could be made with any other team in the thick of the playoff hunt.
Anyways, we're clearly now on the upswing and 2 years from now when we're back in championship contention, we'll all know who the true Heatfans are, AGAIN.

I think we can get more for Marion. If we move Marion, it shouldn't be for aging rented talent, it should be for talent in the long term plans for this team.

Rented Talent? Brad Miller,Beasley would probley one of the best passing front lines in the NBA, Kinda like the old kings with Vlade and Webber. K.Thomas sucks but he has a year less on his contract compared to Banks and we get a First round pick. Miller is no bum. This also goes along with the 2010 plan.

I think you misunderstand what I mean by rented talent. With Brad Miller only getting older and his contract expiring in 2 years, I doubt he would stick with the team after the 2 years are up. Hence why I called him a "rented" talent.
Don't get me wrong, I think Miller is a quality center, but as I stated before, we should look to acquire more long term prospective talent for Marion.

This is why i think miller is perfect for the short term and long term. Any player that comes to miami will need to either be a Star(Some1 worth losing out on 2010) or End in 2010(Miller). To me Renting talent is a one year fix, miller would be here for 2 years and when his contract expires he will be 34, most players around this age want to settle down and find a home, This could also help us resigning him to a very cheap deal(like Alonzo did). Another reason to like the deal is, Banks is a year shorter then Thomas, which would save us 5 million(2010). Next season i feel that we will be in the playoffs and that we would be sending our 1st rounder to Minny, so by completing this deal, we have a first rounder to go along with our 2nd round picks. Overall, i understand your point that Marion is worth more but i counter with, is that player worth losing out on 2010(Hinrich type deal). Most deals that i think Marion holds value, also hurt use in our plan to have as much money as possible that year. I guess we can agree to disagree.
