That fact Mia wouldn't do 5m for Nunn who was the best offensive player for Mia in a number of games these past 2 years is pretty baffling.
Hope they have a better backup PG option than Vincent lined up.

I don't think free agency played out nearly the way Nunn had hoped it would.
Did you not read the report?
Nunn got significantly bigger offers and he turned them down to try and win a title in LA.
He turned down money for winning. That's the heart this kid has.

We're going to sign a veteran like Lou Williams, get a Paul Millsap type and a Danny Green type, and run with a bench of Lou Williams, Tyler Herro, Danny Green, Paul Millsap, and Dewayne Dedmon.

You know we’re **** when that hypothetical bench is supposed to reassure people.

Letting Nunn go for nothing is roster mismanagement.
What makes you think they didn’t explore trades? If the teams that want him could pay him out right, why would they give anything else for him?
So GM Lebron won because he got Nunn without using a single asset? These are strange times we are in.
Well I like Nunn, but it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t a Spo player. I’m not sure he could do what we needed from him in the playoffs against bigger players either. My guess is Heat only extended a qualifying offer to gauge potential for a trade. When none materialized they cut ties.

We will regret losing him and going with Herro instead.
Yes we will.. hes a better overall player than Herro

Micky got the fame of being a cheap owner when he rightfully pushed to cut a Mike Miller with a broken back and shattered knees who was not contributing anymore. They all bought into the LeBron bitchfest about losing Miller…and we paid the tax back then when it made sense. Mike Miller then and Kendrick Nunn today are NOT worth paying the tax for.

He's a perfect fit as a backup pg. We need someone to take 20 of Lowry's minutes in the regular season. You don't want a 36 year old Lowry playing 38 min in regular season. This moves looks like FO doesn't want to pay the tax and are looking at someone for the min.

If he was a starter then sure. But to come off the bench on a stacked team at the age of 26 is more of a ring chase than heart..

It’s honestly sick.
Anything short of a big 3 set of in prime superstars, and it’s going to be disappointment, and clamoring for a tank. But that’s the precedent this organization set. And you got crazy fans thinking that should be the norm every few years.
Some fans go their whole lives without seeing their team win a title. We saw it 3 times in less than 10 years. I get pissed at Spo, players, you name it but this franchise has done right by us as fans.

Good for Nunn. I'm not sure he'll get more playing time...but good for him.
Kinda dumb though. He is young enough to join a contender later on in his career. Should have taken the money first and secured his future and tried to compete before jumping on championship team for low pay. The Knicks are on the climb, they could compete well enough.

I’m sure we will sign minimum guys. We won’t do nothing.
But I don’t want to sign a random scrub and read “oooooo, this was the plan all along”. Because it obviously was not.

Re: MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.4 - Beasley Time
I can't give them the benefit of the doubt anymore because since LeBron left this franchise has mainly missed the playoffs or been a first round exit. Outside the season they lost to Toronto in the 2nd round and the bubble season (as a 5th seed), we've mainly been a bottom seeded franchise with horrible contracts.
I try to be reasonably optimistic and I do think this team could give other teams a tough series if everything works out with health including Oladipo (if he comes back) and Herro becoming the player we hope he can be. But that's too much of a what if to make me feel comfortable.
I do get that there was only so much we could do, but that's the problem. This strategy of whale chasing and missing on good players for just a chance of getting a Giannis backfired. Now we have limited roster with no size and old players that is hard capped with barely any draft picks.
They are my team no matter what, but I can only be positive and hopeful so much. I just don't like what we've been doing for almost a decade now. I'll hope for the best since I can't control anything.

Lol, believe what you want, but Herro won't be reduced to signing 2yr/10 mil, I'll tell you that.
He probably did sign for less money, but the alt was probably 3/18 or something and he hopes to raise his value without playing 2 years @ 6 mil each.
