Man, I really hate our offense.

FGAs:

Jimmy 10
Herro 12
Bam 14 (actually not bad for him)

Herro is gonna be cold in moments when we need him.

Thankfully, he hit a big clutch 3, but it had a crazy bounce and my heart dropped when I saw it was gonna be short.

The biggest contributor might be turnovers, though: 17 tonight.

Actually a very quality win. Hawks won 6 of 7 entering this game and we didn't play very well. These are the kind of games we have learn to win in the playoffs, so it was a nice tune up....

Now I wanna see the Dipo/Yurt show @ORL. Need to rest everyone.

Other than the turnovers, cant see much flaws in tonights game. This was a quality run. I'm shocked. Seed is clinched.

These guys are playing their asses off.

When they’re blitzing him all night naturally he’ll score less

Kinda disagree. I think it's concerning to see us getting pounded on the glass and turning it over so much. Turnovers have been a season long problem and rebounding is a weakness that only shows up against teams with bigs, which we can expect to see in the playoffs.

We only put up 72 shots tonight, which is very low. By comparison, the Hawks put up 88.

According to StatMuse, 70 FGAs is our lowest and we've been at 72 2x this season before tonight.

Sorry if I come off as a Debbie Downer after a win. The one positive I'll mention is our crunch-time quarter execution.

We did have 28 FTs to their 19 as well but ya gotta get up more shots, too many turnovers and poor rebounding for sure...

Luckily we shot a sublime 55.6 fgs and 42.2 3fgs. With shooting like that, hard to lose. Is it sustainable in the yoffs? Hardly. But we're sure as hell are going to give it a shot.

I have a bad habit of typically being negative on here, but tbh high turnovers and weak rebounding sound an awful lot like two things that could happen when a team playing for nothing meets a team playing for everything in game 81 of the regular season

Yeah, he did have 9ast (and only 1tov!).

I just checked out the AST replays and saw that he drew a lot of doubles and triple teams.

Still, there could be something to the Hawks's plan of getting the ball out of his hands and then forcing him to beat them in crunch time.

How do you guys feel about Herro having to hit a big shot knowing he hasn't shot much the entire game?

Herro's never shy to shoot, he averages 17 FGA per game this year, today was not the norm, but he's shown he can make the right play and set others up more effectively then in the past, and still was clutch with his own shot when he had to be.

It wasn't completely meaningless, though.

In fact, it may have had so much meaning that the Heat chose to play their 4 best players.

Because we won, the Hawks are all but guaranteed to finish in 9-10th place, which makes it so the Nets are all but guaranteed 7-8th place with a chance at HCA in the play-in.

I'd say that's pretty significant in it's own right.

I think the big names played and wanted to put on a decent showing because it was officially "fan appreciation night". At least that's the explanation Zaslow had for the full lineup. All good intentions for the fans aside, there's no substitute for playoff intensity and this was essentially a playoff game for Atlanta

Doesn’t worry me, some people just have that clutch gene. I don’t think this is going to happen much, attempts wise for Herro

the gabe has grown up on me. its amazing that a player that once was a scrub now its a player that is contributing with offense and defense.

i dont think he would have prospered in another system, in another team like he has for us here.

i'm very happy for him and heat. he is a feisty role player that's for sure
