I hate to do this to bruh...

but in game 3 against the Spurs...

We lost 113-77...

LeBron scored 15 points (7-21) in 39 mins..

I mean lets just say that KD sucked and moved on. Dude deserves blame.....But I'm sure that its a "kick him while he's down" moment

Dude just isnt good enough. And also the SPurs can do that to people.

The thing here is, Lebron isn't a good shooter - and he didnt trust his jumper in that series (until in the end when he did and it was over for the Spurs)..

So whats KD's excuse? He got all the range for days.....whats the reason he cant score?

Mr. Unreliable

Let's take a quick glance at the MVP's stats this post season:
KEVIN DURANT
PPG- 31.1
APG- 4.4
RPG- 9.5
FG%- 45.8
FT%- 83.1
TO- 4.1
WS- 2.2
WS/48- .171
PER- 23.2

I'm just thinking what abuse lebron would've gotten if he ever put up these **** stats up throughout the FULL postseason. Hell, we remember the pile on from the 2011 nba finals..

It's time to stop thinking of excuses like "Westbrook" or "Brooks" and to finally give heat to where it's due. And that's at the MVP, Kevin Durant.

Now I get it that there will be Durant apologists, as there always are.. But let's be real.. No amount of "you the real MVP" speeches can help the thunder get past the spurs. The time for speeches has passed. It's time to put up or shut up.

Hopefully we see much better production from the MVP.

The sad thing is that these stats doesn't reflect the **** game he just had! Yikes!

Thoughts?

Now maybe GB will perhaps give credit to this Heat team that beat the Spurs last year( all we have heard for a year is that we beat a washed up team of dinosaurs). We're flawed for sure, but if we advance and then wind up beating the Spurs again, it will be a hell of an achievement, much greater than beating a very good but not all that explosive or versatile team like the Utah Jazz 1997-1998.

C'mon man. We gotta be better that.

LeBron "didnt trust his jumper"

So what. He was the MVP, a champion already and he didnt score 20 points in none of the 1st 3 games....including the 15 point game 3.

Trust your jumper or not the best player has to play better than that. The same way the 2nd best player in KD has to play better.

Again...if KD continues to struggle to score 20....then one could make the argument that it is worse than what LeBron did vs. Dallas.

Just call it an awful game and stick with that until a trend happens.

Thats true about LeBron now...and recently...

but would we have said that after the 2011 season?

Wade got hurt in game 5 against Dallas...and WE NEEDED LeBron to step up.....and he didnt...Not only in game 5...but with Wade feeling the effects in game 6....LeBron didnt step up..

LeBron is obviously superior to Durant (I admit getting caught up in the hype to thinking Durant was as good back in February...although right he would get MVP cause he "went for it")

But guy's have to learn to win big...

LeBron may end up being THE GOAT...and he had to learn it. KD with less help just isnt good enough to beat the Spurs right now. LeBron can.

How long has this MVP Durant been failing though? How many times does he get a pass??

And im not gonna get into the whole 2011 Lebron/Mavs series. Look at the numbers Bron was putting up in the series before Dallas. Do you really believe he just choked? Or did you not notice the most incredible, brilliant defensive scheme ever created to stop Lebron? Give Dallas some credit for that zone D they came up with, its what won them the series.

We're talking about the best player in the NBA....

scoring 17 points a game.

I dont give a damn how good the defense is. Thats inexcusable. And there are legit reasons for his struggles, "poor spacing, poor coaching, LeBron tired" all VERY LEGIT. But c'mon man....

Idk. Maybe its just me...but ever since that 2011 Finals....I learned to be humble. Because you're right...people forgot all the great series before. Just like people are going to forget how great KD was this season because he's getting owned by the Spurs. thats just the way it is.

Look, if thats the way you feel then we just have to agree to disagree.

I watched and studied every single game of that 2011 series to see exactly "what" happened to Lebron.

I didnt see a great player "choke" all of a sudden.

Most people seem to forget that we were up 2-1 in that series, and a few minutes away from going up 3-1 when we got cocky and acted like the game and the series was over.

Dallas entire game plan was to get the ball out of Lebrons hands and make someone else beat them. And it worked.

Go back and watch the games where Lebron "choked", and youll see exactly what Dallas was doing. Lebron was getting doubled almost every time he touched the ball, sometimes he was tripled and quadruple team, they did whatever it took to make lebron pass out or take an extremely contested jumper.

Is KD being triple and quadruple teamed by the Spurs?

I dont think so.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree dude.

Because as well as Dallas played.....

LeBron stood in the corner (maybe Spo's fault) or either bled the clock out and would kick to others. The best player in the league who had Wade playing at an unreal level and Bosh was solid (we'd take 17 points from Bosh right now!)

But..if thats what you see....then thats what you see. However, if you put LeBron of the last two years (yes I know he improved) or LeBron from 08,09.......you cant tell me he only scores 18 points a game.

But again...we'll just agree to disagree. :D

Ha, they look like Prime T-Mac numbers.. still pretty good in any standards but not MVP numbers.

LeBron didn't win a championship the first year he won MVP.. so I don't think KD will be attached too harshly after this year (assuming that he wouldn't win it all). He seems to be immune from criticism so I don't think it will change.. and he always has injuries excuses whereas LeBron had no significant teammates so he had zero excuses besides his right elbow or something. It's UNFAIR, but it is what it is.

Next year, I think more KD doubters will creep up.. KD is getting up there when it comes to coming up short in the playoffs.. esp. considering the fact that he has had one of the best teams in the NBA for a while now (sans the injury excuses which is super lame).

LeBron had a great 2nd half against the Spurs. Played great in game 4 (although, technically it was Wade who won us the game)

And he was GOAT in the 4th Qrt/OT of game 6 and all of game 7.

I dont dispute that. Just saying there were plenty of times LeBron wasnt playing as well on offense against the Spurs also.

With that said.

What truly separates LeBron from Durant is defense.

KD cant "shut down" an opponent to keep him in the game until he finds his rhythm scoring. Just like LeBron did yesterday. LeBron's defense was great throughout the Spurs series. no doubt.

Except for a couple games, Lebron was fine in that series. I don't care what he scores because he contributes and carries us in many aspects. We can disagree on this. Lebron won us that series we can stop having this convo now, we won't agree.

Yo guys

I don't feel like we should be bagging on KD. He didn't have a good game tonight, and neither did WB. Remember how we felt in 2011 when everyone was **** on Lebron? Sure I guess it feels like karma for us, but at the same time I feel like we gotta respect these players. KD isn't a knucklehead, and all the outside talk about him being the next "Superstar" mostly comes from outside sources. (ESPN,RealGM)

This battle back and forth between people every time Lebron or KD have a bad game is so childish. Sure I like jokes and all, but reading the last couple pages just makes our fan base look like pompous dicks. KD is a great player at age 25. these failures will lift him, just like with Lebron

I'm not trying to be a buzzkill. I just think we should respect this guy, no matter how many sensationalist "MR UNRELIABLE" headlines are put out

I personally don't care what kind of game KD is having. Nothing that is happening right now surprises me. KD can put up 30 points and it not even be representative of what kind of game he had. Because he's coddled thats why. For a dude who can hit any shot possible, dude is in a finesse series struggling to be productive. Ibaka must be a magician because u lose one guy and this is what happens? I thought KD was the best player in the league and they had the Spurs number? no?

To be fair, Lebron did only score 15 pts against the Spurs in the finals.......

......then he went on to notch TWO triple doubles in one finals series, the most in NBA history, only equaled by Magic Johnson in 1991, and ended up winning the series, a championship, and a finals MVP, so yea, KD still has a chance to redeem himself and equal Lebrons performance against the mighty Spurs.

Return to Miami Heat
